2020 Vikings Draft Thread

Post by khans2k5 [enjin:6608728] »

Getting massive O Lineman would go against the zone blocking scheme Kubiak runs. So unless he changes his scheme up I don't see us drafting those behemoth's and will instead get more guys like Elflein and Bradbury with the intention of getting them out in space. We'll see.

I like the position picks. I am not a good judge of OLine guys myself unless I put in many hours of work. So I have no comment on those two in particular.

I haven't looked into all the FA yet either but I hope we can address likely losing Rhodes (because he has been terrible) with an upgrade there.

I agree with what you are saying, but Kindley would fit the zone scheme. It would be nice to see a guy that doesn't get bull-rushed on our interior.

Isiah Wilson might not, but you could go with the Johnnie. Ben Bartch who would be the 3rd converted TE on the line. I am really curious about where he goes. DIII LT is already projected to go in 2nd round.

I'm guessing JD Spielman isn't coming out this year. He will be back for his senior season to rewrite the Nebraska Receiving record books. Also as nervous as Rick says he is to watch JD's games I'd guess he might not want to pick him on his team unless it was a total no-brainer. I'd want JD on this team in a year.

That would be tough. Any Cornhuskers you like in the draft this year?

The combine will be huge for Winfield and Johnson. 40's will be critical for them.

There are guys that are seniors that could be late round or undrafted drafted sleepers like the Davis Twins. Lamar Jackson has size but never really figured it all out but I think had a solid season at CB. Worth remembering these guys played for like 37 defensive coordinators. Lol Darrian Daniels is the most legit guy IMO he was a grad transfer and was a team captain. I haven't done much research but I could see him going in the mid rounds. That's about all I can think of. If there is a senior olineman that played a lot you never know it seems like Nebraska always ends up with some solid depth guys on NFL rosters. The bottom line is Daniels is the only guy I would be really interested in investing any kind of draft capital in. I wouldn't mind having a bunch picks to take late round flyers on other guys...that's my take but it's honestly not super informed. I didn't really watch any games after the first few. Lol

An Interesting draft. I really like Karmen Curl in the 7th. He is a 6'2" 198lb safety that is only 20 years old. He had 76 tackles. 2 forced fumbles, 2 sacks, and 2 ints in 2019. Getting him in the 7th would be a steal.

What's people's take on Fromm? Is there any other QBs that might not be first round picks (or maybe say a late 1st guy we could trade up for) that people would have interest in us taking or are people all in on Jake Browning? Lol
