Trent Williams is officially in the block. Go get him and make a real run at this with Kirk and company.

What is the price you have to pay to get him? He didn't play at all last year right? I guess he should be fresh but that concerns be a bit. You don't know if maybe he has something else going on or maybe just lost a bit. Just sayin. It certainly makes a lot of sense to go get him if the price is at all reasonable.

He sat out last year because of a personal issue with the training staff from what I could find so no new medical red flags. He's only 31 which for a left tackle means he still has some years left in him. The only problem I potentially see is he wants a big fat extension wherever he goes and that would be a risk, but at the end of the day he's one of the best LT's in the game when he's on the field. I'd have to see who's on the board at 25, but giving them Reiff and 25 is probably on the steep end. Maybe getting Reiff back is enough for a second round pick to be thrown in.

If he is one of the best Left tackles in the game they are gonna ask a minimum of a 1st round pick. LT and QBs are THE spots you have 1st round picks for. Other positions have some legit chances of finding a high level player otherwise. The article I read said one of the big reasons they didn't trade him last season was the price would have been really high. I still say it's a little bit concerning that you didn't see the guy play last year. 31 isn't old but some guys drop off at that point as well. I'm not saying that's a deal breaker but it's a concern especially since he has missed games many seasons of his career. It will be interesting to see what the price ends up being. I'm sure there will be plenty of interest which could keep that price high. Ideally they would want Reiff. Idk if they would or not but you would think they would like a decent LT to help their young QB. Based on the PFF grades Reiff was be an obvious upgrade over what they have.
You make a good point about his contract. To some extent if you trade for him and pay the price we have discussed then...it seems you would want him for more than a year rental. The question to me is how long and how much and how guaranteed the money is you have to give him. If you could get 3 good seasons out of him and have to pay him 4 that would be MASSSIVE because so many resources go into finding a LT. Not having to worry about that spot for a few years would be big and it would make others better specifically at QB...
On the other hand it's supposed to be a really good offensive tackle draft so... MAYBE you just draft your guy.

I feel like we should do that. I am fine draft a guy in round 2-4 that we develop for a year and O'Neall shifts to LT.

Rhodes officially released. The first domino in the defensive backfield has fallen.

Rhodes and Joseph's contract terminated. I am guessing neither will be back.

He never really broke through. Just wasn't enough of a receiving threat.
