I ran through a draft with the TDM Mock Draft. It is kind of crazy doing it with this many picks.

Round 1 Pick 22
Yetur Gross-Matos, EDGE Penn State Junior
I am not sure he will be available at 22, but he would be a great bookend across from Hunter.

Round 1 Pick 25
Jaylon Johnson, CB Utah Junior
I really reached for him. He was the 66th ranked player on the board, but he is a true junior and potential lockdown corner.

Round 2 Pick 58
Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR Michigan Junior
Good speed and size. Great hands and 44 inch vertical. He will be Diggs replacement day 1.

Round 3 Pick 89
Saahdiq Charles, OT LSU Junior
Our LT of the future and maybe present. Perfect for our zone scheme and just a true junior. Would have gone higher if he didn't have some early season discipline issues.

Round 3 Pick 105
Solomon Kindley, IOL Georgia RS Junior
Left Guard that is a Mauler, but mobile enough to play zone. He will allow Elfein to fit Braburry for center job.

Round 4 Pick 132
A.J. Dillon, RB Boston College Junior
6 foot 250lb power back with 4.5 speed and 40 inch vertical. He provides a short-yardage beast and game clock killer.

Round 5 Pick 167
James Lynch, IDL Baylor Junior
Red hot motor and altime sack leader at Baylor. Has burst and battle skills to get into the backfield from 3T.

Round 6 Pick 201
Antoine Brooks Jr., S Maryland Senior
Leader of Maryland defense. Will be a force on special teams day one.

Round 6 Pick 205
Lynn Bowden, WR Kentucky Junior
Project WR that is one of the best athletes in the country. Played option QB as a junior due to injuries on his team Could be used in gadget plays early.

Round 7 Pick 219
Logan Wilson, LB Wyoming
Safety converted to LB. Bulked up to 240lbs, but kept 4.6 40 speed.

Round 7 Pick 249
Jeff Thomas, WR Miami Junior
Slot receiver with wheels and hands to high point the ball and make

Round 7 Pick 253
Stanford Samuels III, CB Florida State Junior
He is a big 5 star recruit that had good production, but bad 4.6 40 time. He could be a steal of the draft. .

It is so hard to mock things. I was looking at the Bleacher board and Stanford Samuel was ranked 70th. Logan Wilson in top 200. Solomon Kindley was at 40. Lynn Bowden in the top 200.

I think the key for the Vikings in this draft will be figuring out creating tiers and needs. Some players might go up a tier based on need. We can't draft 12 WR's because they are the BPA in each round?

Taking a stab at needs I would rank them as such.

1. CB
2. WR
3. LG
4. DT
5. OT
6. DE
7. S
8. QB

I am really curious about what we do in free agency. We should sign at least a WR, DT, and CB. It would help with not having to reach in the draft.

I don't see the need at DT for FA. They already have 5 on the roster. Watts looked really good when he played last year. Draft some guys maybe sign some young dude or whatever sure because you can never have enough. Of the things this team needs it's pretty far down on my list. At this point until Griffin is actually back DE is a bigger question. They basically have Hunter Odingobo and Eddie Yarbrough (solid youngish guy with experience and cheap) and a PS guy. They could rotate Barr in there too and I'm sure they will draft and find some guys like they have but like I said until Griffins is back there is a need there. If Harris is traded safety has to be higher than 7th on the grocery list.

I get what you are saying, but Holmes and Hercules shouldn't be on the team next year. Watts was solid, but it would be nice to have Shamar as a backup. I am fine with Ifeadi Odenigbo starting at DE, but it would be huge to bring back Griffin. I assume he will be due to earlier statements and him not seeing interest early. I was shocked at what Weatherly got paid.

Weatherly 2.0

He would be a good 7th round flier or UFA.

I don't think this team has the luxury of trying to replace a starter from last year (that will cost over 5 million) and make him a bench guy as a priority. I remember Andre Patterson predicting a HUGE season for Kendricks this year because Stephen was back. Obviously Kendricks played really well it wasn't just Stephen but its an interesting prediction to consider after the fact.

I would have said we can pass on upgrading DT, but we got run over by teams like Packers and 49ers that show we can't stop the run. That was supposed to be Stephen and Joseph's strength. I don't think we can afford a splashy signing, but if we can hit on a sneaky signing that would be great. I don't know who that would be. Jason Lynch in the draft will be an interesting prospect. The combine results are so so until you see the 20-yard shuttle which was elite. You can't deny his production. He looks like a Viking to me but will take a year or 2 to produce.

Bleed forgive me if you have mentioned him but have you done any research into Anthony Gordon out of Washington state? I was watching some videos from. Few weeks ago and I think it was Bucky Brooks that mentioned him as a guy that may make sense for the Vikings to draft with a late round pick as a developmental guy. He has an interesting story. I can't tell from the highlights how mobile he really is but he can sling it.

So, let's discuss this for a second.

Don't get me wrong. I haven't seen Gordon play. But Browning was a 4 year starter, 6th in Heisman ballot as a SOPHOMORE, career 150 passer rating. And he is being cast aside after ONE season for a one year starter who played for a coach known for getting his guys stats? In 2020, where the word of the day for 365 days straight is continuity? I don't know. Let's just go with KC/SM/JB and get some CB's, OG's (or OT with Reiff moving to G), and WR's, and for the love of God, a PR from the offensive side of the ball.

Um...we are taking about a guy they might pick in the 7th round with one of like 13 of those picks Spielman will end up with. It's just something a draft analyst suggested after being prodded to come up with some guys they might look at. Is this guy better than Browning? You bring up some good points that I agree with.

Meanwhile Gordon barely lost in a super close race to be the starter the previous college season to that Gardner Mischew guy who looked at worst decent as an undrafted rookie. Maybe worth looking into this Gordon guy right? Like I said he is an interesting story at least. Basically NOBODY seemed to be recruiting him even after he was winning and putting up stats at junior colleges for 2 years.
