Yeah, if we beat the Giants then you have to believe we are in great position for the playoffs. We'd still have four games against Detroit and Chicago.... I just hope the injuries don't catch up to us at some point.

LST it sounds like Kendricks and Captain just had cramping issues. David Morgan has a knee injury so hopefully Pruit is very close to returning. Boone said he was fine and all good but we will see after the MRI on his hip.

Just read that about Kendricks, monster...very good news. He has a chance to be really good. I'm still worried about bad news about Boone. He's the kind of guy who will poo-poo a serious injury, but he couldn't walk off the field under his own power and got carted to the locker room...didn't look good. Let's hope his report is more accurate than my fears.

Kudos to you guys who said not to worry about Clemmings at LT. I sensed a disaster, but his stats were terrific. Only one QB pressure in 30 dropbacks, even though the tight end only helped him twice. Those are all-pro like stats! Let's hope he's the real deal.

Notes from PFF:

TJ Clemmings was among their 10 worst performances of the week. A bit surprising to me, but then I'm not the type of fan who focuses on one player's individual play.

problems at left tackle by inserting Clemmings into the lineup. He picked up where Matt Kalil had left off, surrendering three hurries in the passing game and failing to hold up his end of the bargain as a run-blocker, despite playing against a Carolina defensive front that has been poor so far this season.

Top offensive grades:

TE Kyle Rudolph, 83.3
FB Zach Line, 80.1
C Joe Berger, 75.3
QB Sam Bradford, 74.4
WR Adam Thielen, 74.4

Top defensive grades:

CB Trae Waynes, 85.8
S Harrison Smith, 84
CB Terence Newman, 82.7
DE Everson Griffen, 81.9
LB Eric Kendricks, 79.4

Odd that his performance can be analyzed so wildly different. The press box stats had only one hurry in 30 dropbacks, despite not getting much TE help. Bizarre. The Vikings of course havel always hated PFF...think they have always had a negative bias about Kalil, and now the same thing for Clemmings. I guess it proves that evaluating O linemen is a difficult thing to do. I have to admit I didn't focus on the offensive line as much as I did the previous week, but my knee jerk reaction was that Clemmings was invisible much of the day...a very good thing for a LT to be.

PFF is fun to look at and worthwhile. What I think bugs Zimmer is that the grades are based on what the people viewing assume the player is supposed to do and Inam sure there are times when they are supposed to be doing something else and another guy didn't do his job etc. I think it's a pretty nifty thing for fans to look at and I've said it for a while if they said the guy really sucks he probably wasn't good and if they said the guy was great he is probably at least above average etc. like you said LST I didn't notice Clemmings so that's probably a positive. Maybe he did really suck in run blocking that's a little tougher to spot. Smith has been seen though that's for sure as a pass blocker. Lol

Again this line isn't a cohesive unit. A few days ago they added a new LT in Clemmings. The ONLY player to play his position on the line from last year is Joe Berger. Think about that for a minute. This group COULD still come together to some extent. I think oline coaches can have a positive effect. Mike Tice has had moments of that over the years. Hopefully Sparano can work a bit of coaching magic.
