Why exactly is Rodriguez not simply banned from baseball for life

Pete Rose bet on baseball and is gone for life. Rodriguez cheated his way to millions of dollars, lied, was an arrogant ass all along, made a mockery of the game of baseball, and represents absolutely everything that is wrong with baseball. If the Yankees had any balls at all they would make Rodriguez ride the pine and not play ever again.

I love how baseball has to take the old, we got to be fair approach to a guy who literally stole money. In this country usually people are arrested in jail for the fraud that this man committed.

What an absolutely terrible human being who should have everything taken away from him, including his children if he has any. God forbid this guy to have any role in raising offspring.
