1. The Twins are going after Matt Boyd hard and believe he can even be better with Wes Johnson help. They love his spin rate The tigers want Brusdar and Gordon. The twins are offering Gordon and Balazovich. Boyd arbitration eligible for 3 years

2. There's also rumors the Twins top 3 prospects are untouchable. This is not true the Twins are willing to to trade Kirilloff for the right person. He said he had been told the asking price for Kirby Yates was Kirilloff and PTBNL and twins passed. This is a similar deal the Indians made for Brad Hand last year.

3. Most scouts think Brusdar would've made the starting rotation next year but with his shoulder injury there not sure now. They also think he would've been in the bullpen by the trade deadline.

4. Royce Lewis Oblique strain was more serious than reported and is the reason he struggled so early on. Since June 19th he's batting .297 avg with an Ops of .880 and strike out rate of 18%. They hope he has another good month and half and would like him to reach double A by the end of the year.

5. There looking hard at Seth Lugo, they believe he has same type of spin rate as Presley did.

6. They asking price for Bumgarner and Will Smith is ridiculous. They want Two of our top 3 prospects. This is crazy amount for two rentals.

Good info, Jester. My reply will be numbered to your points of information.

1. I don't see the Twins giving up Brusdar, but I think that a Boyd deal could actually get done. I'd hope the Tigers value Gordon more than they should as I think his spot on the Twins is blocked for the foreseeable future.

2. Twins top-three prospects should be untouchable even if they might not be at this time. I don't know who's available that would be the "right person" to trade Kirilloff for. I don't think there is anyone right now. I also think he's going to be very, very good. And Kirby Yates is a very affective closer, but he's not worth that much, in my opinion. Could likely acquire Alex Colome for much less.

3. I could see that. Probably replacing Perez or Pineda. I think either way those two guys probably get upgraded next season.

4. Royce is a stud. That's almost a full month of solid production since feeling like himself again. We'll continue to monitor him, no doubt.

5. Lugo doesn't excite me at all. However, I trust the Twins FO. Falvey and co. have greatly exceeded expectations.

6. San Francisco can kick rocks. Besides, I think MadBum isn't quite the pitcher he once was. Combine that with his attitude problems and I'm perfectly fine not having to root for him.

Is it just me or is "MadBum" sound like a dumb nickname? I really had no idea who that was (when I would see #madbum on twitter etc) till I finally looked it up a solid chunk of games into this season.

I don't want Dumgarner on my team unless he is cheap. He is a rental and just has not been as effective lately. His HR rate is near a career high and it would get worse in the AL.

Great to have you commenting again Cam :) I wouldn't write off Lugo his Spin Rate on his Curve/Slider is basically the same as Ryan Presley last year and he's under arbitration control for 3 years. When it comes to Lewis I still think I'm on the side of the fence if we can get DeGrom for him I would.

Also very interesting them DFA Mejia that means they have 2 more 40 man roster spots available now. My dream scenario is them getting Shane Greene or Lugo and Boyd. Colome scares me Cam just because of his low strike out rate and extremely low BABIP. We don't need a closer we have one and his name is Taylor Rogers and he's number 1 WPA now.

Also San Fran can piss off. There gm was with dodgers during the Yu Darvish trade where they gave up there number 8&10 prospect for him. You know who they didn't give up Cody Bellinger and Cory Seager.

My brother texted me this. It's a list of the guys in the organization that will be eligible for the rule 5 draft. Lots of guys on there I would imagine they want to add tot he 40 man roster before then.

Good points all around. I'll add that Colome's BABIP is so low because he induces weakly hit balls. He's not a strikeout machine, but if he can continue to limit the hard contact, he can maintain this level of effectiveness.

I'll also add that he's had decent success in his career against the other AL contenders.

Red Sox: 39.2 IP, 4.08 ERA, 30 K
Indians: 27.2 IP, 1.95 ERA, 21 K
Astros: 16.0 IP, 1.13 ERA, 10 K
Twins: 19.2 IP, 1.83 ERA, 16 K
Rays: 5.0 IP, 7.20 ERA, 4 K

Included the Twins because of the prominent bats on the roster.

These things always work themselves out. They know who they want to keep and who they don't. Interesting they DFA Morin yesterday. That makes three 40 man roster spots. I would assume A righty and lefty reliever and starting pitcher.

Baseball America came out with there midsession report.

Kiiriloff #17
Lewis #21
Brusdar #35
My man Jordy Blaze #98

Larnach was first 15 off the list

This just proves any player the twins want at the trade deadline can be obtained by our farm system.
