The thing about most of these kinds of players.....they are almost never high lottery picks! Yet they are arguably the most valuable kind of player once you have a couple guys that can create offense. Rosas will prove his worth once he finds or develops a Jae Crowder, OG Anunbody, Marcus Smart, Robert Covington, Jerami Grant, etc., etc.

This is a fun thread Q.

If I thought Jonathon Isaac could stay healthy he would be my first pick. There are some concerns about Michael Porter jr too but I think I may have to take him. If you wanted a guy that could help win next season Josh Richardson would be a possible pick.

Ultimately I would really want a possible versatile modern big That would fit next to Towns. I might have to gamble on Isaac being healthy.

After that the playoffs Herro had...he has to be my other guy.

Like Q said it's a great thread because most of these guys weren't top picks or even if they were at some point some could be or were reasonably acquired.

They give our two best players the freedom to do more on offense and not burden themselves as much on defense.

You can focus all your energy, picks and assets towards pursuing young wings to round out the roster

In no way would I want the ball out of DLos hands.

That is why I hate the Ball talk.

The most absolute valuable role player these days is the capable 3-point shooting big wing that can switch onto 1-5 and be good defensively. We have nothing of the sort on our existing roster. That's why OG and Covington are on a lot of lists here.

Oladipo doesn't count because he is a scorer (among many other things)...my original post qualified that it could only be guys that average less than 15PPG, i.e. role player types.

Isaac is a good one IF he can stay healthy. Man, he'd look good playing next to KAT.

This is a really hard topic because upon reflection it seems that the good shooting defensive wing, who doesn't want more shots is about as rare as the 2 way superstar. I tried to engage but there are very few players that don't get 15 points who are great defensively. I think the explanation for that is it takes such a great athlete/physical specimen to be dominant defensively that getting 15 points isn't a huge deal for these athletes. My first thoughts were to check Simmons, Gobert, and Bam's ppg who are all just over 15 ppg.

Great question. I'd take smart and OG too following the rules. That being said the choices for real "3 and D" players are about as limited as getting a superstar. Which again is why hitting big with that 17th pick this year is so big to me. We need a Bam type in that spot who way overshoots their draft position. Good drafting seems to be the only way to get these players.
