Only bad owners are willing to hire Thibs. I don't disagree with that.

As one often reviled as both Thibs apologist+Thibs hater my take on Thibs is he was hired to develop KAT (+ Wigs + LaVine) + then mistakenly banked on a player who couldn't be more different than KAT to mentor him. Then sided with him--beyond the point of reason--against KAT.

Bottom line, if anyone in the Wolves organization knew that Thibs would make the development of the KAT/Wigs/LaVine core subservient to his TimberBulls makeover with Butler/Taj/Rose, he never would have been hired as coach or GM. And he unquestionably did prioritize that way.

What I think is fair, even though Butler/taj/Rose all out played their contracts when they were a Wolf.

I will always think of the Thibs area of a missed opportunity, they had talent, they arguably picked the wrong player in Wiggins over Lavine because Glen got involved (I still have my issues with Lavine). Thibs was a terrible drafter, drafting Dunn, Patton, Okogie and KDB during his time. The Toxic behavior of Butler, Thibs and KAT. At the end of the day its was the 2nd best roster in Wolves history and for multiple factors they couldn't make it work. I will say if the Wolves were in the bubble right now with Teague/rose/butler/Okogie/taj/Towns/Gorgui/Wiggins we would be a dangerous team right now. In the end it is just a footnote in a sad wolves history.

What's sad about the Butler / Thibs / Towns stuff... is just how shitty Towns comes off in it. Somehow...

- The organization didn't really back him as it happened.
- Butler moved on and didn't have as many issues with other prominent young guys
- The Wolves sucked balls. Again.

But Johnny Athletic touched on yet another Towns-related slight.

- Leon Rose was both Towns and Thibs agent. So he'd know about their relationship more than most. So what can we make of him shelling out millions of dollars for a 5-year deal to work with Thibs?

Bad look for Towns, right?

That was an interesting point Abe. I thought Jon well framed a possible success for Thibs if Leon Rose can basically be the human side to Thibs. I do think that is a bit of a bad look for Towns. It's also Possible Rose Simply has a blind spot when it comes to Thibs. When Thibs got the job with the Knicks Kendrick Perkins was all championing Thibs and saying he brings culture... Like I said before we are going to see if Thibs works or not.

If Thibs can turn the Knicks into a respectable playoff team it's gonna end up looking real bad on Towns. The Knicks have their own young building blocks in RJ and Mitchell Robinson and if they turn that franchise around what's that gonna say about Towns who still is waiting to make the playoffs without a better player on his team helping him.

Has anyone watched RJ Barrett with the Knicks? I mean statistically he looks a lot like a poor but Still better FT shooting Culver. What In his game makes him a cornerstone?

Why is what he doing now the end all be all for what he can become? He was the third overall pick in last years draft. That's what makes him a cornerstone. Giving up on a 3rd overall pick who doesn't even get a full rookie year to play is ridiculous. It's the same as if we just give up on Culver already. Sorry these guys aren't Zion and Ja. You should reasonably expect your top picks to improve on weaknesses and get better in subsequent years so capping these guys potential already is just dumb. We've officially moved up to giving up on rookies during their rookie year now apparently. Crazy.

I had such high hopes for the Towns/Wiggins/LaVine trio to make us a good playoff team.
