He plays poor defense and isn't really a floor general. He plays for his own offensive stats. If you think it's Howard to lets them down you're barking up the wrong tree and it's not even close. Also a guy like Bazemore is letting them down as well.

14 ppg / 13 reb / 1.5 blk / 63% fg / 22.3 PER
But some of the advanced stats are positive, too. 2.2 DBPM.
DBPM is a box score that values things like def. boards, blocks etc.. So not that advanced. But Howard is doing solid in Def. RPM, still easily top 10 among centers.

Yeah, he's put up some pretty sexy stats, but the team is worse last year defensively and are on pace to be worse record-wise. The biggest change I can think of is swapping out Horford for Howard.
Oh, and Houston is better this year than they were last year with their major roster change being....getting rid of Dwight Howard.
Swapping out Horford for Howard is a big change. But that doesn't mean Howard sucks. Only that he's not Al Horford.
Horford is more versatile and he allowed Atlanta to be a lot more aggressive with traps far out on the floor. Howard can't do that. But he can protect the rim pretty damn well. He's also less versatile offensively which means Atlanta has had to change how it plays on that end, too.
As for Houston, Capela is a lot like Howard... sans superstar attitude? We'll see how they do with him out for a month or two. But I thing the biggest change there is a superstar in Harden who actually is trying this season compared to last year when he arrived woefully out of shape. The new D'Antoni system that fits Harden, Gordon and Anderson well doesn't hurt either.

A healthy Gordon and Anderson are 2 pretty significant additions espcially if you want to shoot the hell out of the 3 ball which Houston has wanted to do for years.

Sounds like Howard will play. I'm not a big fan of his game, but they are a better team with him in there. The problem is while the Wolves have 3 centers, the Hawks have Humphries backing up at center...heck, Payne and Hill are taller than Humphries.

I'm gonna say Wolves by four on the road. Too much Towns inside.

Ricky being Ricky for the second game in a row...looks confident. That early lead disappeared in a hurry though

Aaand then we give it all back and then some. Brutal. Can't let runs like that happen.
