I also really like that he got a couple Pf's in Gomez and Johnson that he feels are better fits next to Kat, good opportunity to see how that works. Night and day the skills level with those two compared to Taj and Dieng, although I know Dieng wasn't playing with him this year. And I think you'd be pretty ignorant if you think Cov at the 4 was Rosas' ideal fit, it was out of necessity.

But... Didn't you... The end is near... The sky is falling... The Wolves are doomed for the next eight years...

Never mind. Carry on.

My comments were based on the DLO acquisition. Didn't want him last summer, didn't want him now. I saw this coming and hoped it would never come to fruition. What I did was make a prediction that the Towns-Russell pairing would ultimately fail. No end is near or sky is falling rhetoric, in fact I said we would probably win more games. And I will stand by that prediction until proven right or wrong.

I have no idea how the remaining transactions will play out. There certainly appears to be at least hope that some of these guys will be meaningful contributors. But unless we strike gold in the draft, this latest makeover rests primarily on the shoulders of Towns and Russell. I have no doubt it will be entertaining, but I have serious concerns about the ceiling of this team. I also realize not everybody cares about the pursuit of championships the same way I do.

On a side note, I'm at the health club yesterday working on a cardio machine with a Timberwolves hat on. A club member approaches me and starts talking about how terrible of a move acquiring Russell was. After talking with him for a minute he indicates he's a Laker fan. He goes on to say how they couldn't wait to get him out of LA, and how glad they were to be able to trade him. The telling thing was how much disdain he had for him, even two years later.

I think its a pretty fair play for a Minnesota sports fan to exercise caution.

That being said we're probably going to have a winning streak that makes us miss out on an impact player in the draft.

You're right about a likely winning streak and missing out on an impact player. Bummer.

What would be another avenue to be considered a title contender?? I mean we somehow were able to shed the worst contract in the league in the deal. Contract aside, he's simply not a good player. He could be making 15 million a year, as your 2-3 best player, your team is doomed. I know the comeback will be, lottery luck next your was our only hope. That's worked well

Jeez, how many times do I need to say this? I was ready to move on from Wiggins. In fact, I was ready to move on from KAT. Most on this board realize you can't play championship level defense with KAT at the 5 and no fellow big to help him out. We are going to continue to be abused on the defensive end of the floor. One hot shooting night isn't going to change that. If it were up to me I would have torn the whole thing down and let Rosas build this from scratch.

I'm with you. My first choice would have been to trade kat also. But since we weren't going to do that, I like the trades that we made.

I find it exciting that he can construct these type of moves, and will take chances. Really liked what I saw yesterday and am excited to see how DLo fits in, and where we go next.

To early to tell on Rosas, I mean after 1 game I love him but the Wolves are not going to shoot 60% from 3 every game.

The thing I like from Rosas is that he is able to make a trade. We can argue on the merit of each trade but he can get a trade done and does not just sit on his hands and prays things change. He also has done something that no wolves GM has done before and that is find productive undrafted guys. I am most impressed with him getting Naz and McLaughlin. They both seem like solid rotation pieces and Wolves should have them super cheap going forward and that is huge for a team that will be up against the cap with Dlo and Kat max salaries.

Despite the good times from last night, we are in a pretty big hole and have a tough schedule ahead of us. While I don't think we will lose 10 straight again this season, I don't see many winning streaks in front of us either.
