Outside of Towns we can't get a 1st for any of them unless we take back someone with a worse contract.

So you don't think we could get a 1st for edwards? Hmmm ok, I also think we could probably get one for Beasley, mcdaniels, and probably Rubio based on the rumors out there. I think other teams have a perception that he's looked bad this year because he's on a terrible team (I don't really agree with that, which is why we need to trade him). Also Bolmaro might bring a late 1st too. That's 5 guys besides kat that could potentially return a 1st. Have to realize that just because the top of the 2021 is really good, doesn't mean that the rest is any better or deeper than a regular year.

Don't get me wrong, this roster sucks, but I think we have options to get a late first from a contending team.

Also, I really like the idea for the this thread!!

Rubio is reigning World Cup MVP and had a good year with Phoenix. I think if a playoff team needs an injury replacement point guard, his value could soar to beyond that of anybody not named KAT or Edwards, which probably gets us a late first rounder. Edwards only has value because of his youth and potential. No team in their right mind would give up a first rounder for his actual production.

Same thing applies to Rubio as his production isn't even close to being worth a first-round pick. Minnesota would need to hope that a team wants to trade for what Rubio was and not what he's been this season, which is possible, I guess. Teams talk themselves into players all the time.

But the reigning World Cup MVP... Whew. Every team could use one of those. Put the league on notice.

Throwing the sarcasm back at you about DLO being a "young all star" that was well worth giving up our draft picks for and taking on his salary. Can't thank Rosas enough for stealing DLO away, right??

I think I'd trade the entire Wolves roster besides KAT just to get all of our future draft picks back.

I gotta say I find it absolutely baffling that multiple people here truly believe we couldn't even get a late first round pick for Edwards.

I think that's a function of the understandable disgust with the entire team. But there's no doubt the Wolves could get a future 1st round pick for Edwards. The only question is how much protection would be attached to the pick. Sadly, I think it would be at least top 5 protection and likely top 10. That's unfortunate considering his was the top pick in the draft. Edwards has tremendous potential and he doesn't appear to have issues with effort or intensity that Wiggins has. So I'd be reluctant to trade him because at this point we'd be selling low. Instead, he has a huge problem with shooting efficiency and decision-making. Those are fixable, although I'm concerned with his lack of any progress on those measures this season.

Hahahaha makes me laugh every time I see those words in the same sentence. Maybe a G league all star...

Nope. I don't think a smart GM would and we will see what happens before the trade deadline. We just don't have the pieces winning teams need and we are not getting lottery picks for our losers.

I am not sure people are factoring in that if we are already trading him there would be red flags everywhere. What did we trade to get Michael Beasley after his rookie year?
