Saunders literally said today, DLO is day to day. I think Dlo is hurt but I think they pushed him to have surgery. If dlo and Kat don't play. Saunders and Rosas job is safe because they will have the excuse

Kecker, if you were running the show would their jobs be safe? There is no rule that says they can't be fired because DLO and KAT don't play together. I get what you're saying but nothing would surprise me.

Saunders especially would not be safe because he has had 3 different variations of the Wolves and has been bad with all 3. He won't be fired though because his mom is an owner and they have this season excuse. He will be back next year

Gersson Rosas and Ryan Saunders should both be fired. But will they be? No shot.

I don't think Ryan will be coaching this team next year. Rosas is another story.

I hope you're right about that, but firing Saunders would require Rosas to sell that to Glen Taylor. I just don't see Taylor allowing Rosas to fire the golden child considering he's really the one that put Saunders in that spot. They'll make excuses as to why this team sucks balls and mention the injuries as well as the COVID complications. They'll decide that Saunders never got a fair chance, which is ironic considering he should have never been in the head coaching position to begin with. I really see this organization running it back with a very similar team, staff, and front office next season.

Ryan and Rosas arent going anywhere as long as Taylor is the owner. If a buyer materializes then I could see a change.

LOL.

I'm not laughing at Russell's injury. Only the Timberwolves "luck."

As noted, this is bad news for the Wolves win prospects this season. But it's GREAT news for Rosas and maybe even Saunders.

[Note: Cue the hundreds of 'woe is us last year... but THIS time things are gonna be different" stories that are already written and ready to print.]

This is what happens when the team doesn't go to the Bahamas. We should have known.

The right thing to do is to just sign jomac to a full nba deal. Hopefully a 2 yr deal including next season. We have a roster spot left. We did jomac dirty by giving him only another 2 way deal when he played above that. He deserves a real nba contract.

Signing another pg now to save jomac's playable dates is stupid and insulting.

We have culver and nowell that can pitch in at pg as well.

It doesn't really matter who the coach is. This team is the second youngest in the NBA. We are playing multiple rookies and second year guys. KAT was out and multiple players were terrible. The coach can't make Rubio hit wide open 3's, nor JO or Culver. It's up to the players to get it done and they haven't.

I would say a top HC is worth maybe 4-5 games a year and that might be generous. It's a players league. Players win or lose. Ryan is still an NBA coach he has lots of coaching experience, may not be great but he still puts the players in position to win.

It's simply unrealistic to expect this team of G leaguers and rookies to win night in and out. If the team was full of veterans like the Lakers or Clippers, then sure. But we don't. Missing KAT hurt the progress and DLO maybe a bit too with how bad Rubio "was." Rubio cost this team probably 3 wins himself with his turnovers and complete lack of offense.

Nope. The bolded just isn't true whatsoever. What experience are you referring to? Ryan Saunders is a glorified water boy that had a semi-successful father coaching in the NBA. He played 20 games in college. He never played professionally. He was never a head coach in college or overseas. He wasn't even a top assistant coach, for crying out loud. Minnesota is at a disadvantage every single game with Saunders leading the bench and he's proven that time and time again throughout his tenure. What more do we need to see?

If Glen sells the team before next season then I don't see Saunders coaching this team next season. Rosas would probably be safe for one more season under a new owner. But if Glen still has the team, then I see Saunders as our head coach to start next season. Rosas will replace him if the Wolves get off to a bad start. I think Glen would allow Rosas to fire Ryan right now, but Ryan is an insurance policy for Rosas since firing Ryan is the one move Rosas can make to buy himself more time.

He was an assistant coach for 9 years, since 2009. He worked under Tubby Smith in college prior to the NBA. He worked under Flip, Thibs and others for 9 years in the NBA. Placing all the blame on him and not on the players is downright silly and foolish. It doesn't matter who is coaching this team this season, they'd still have about the same record. Look at the roster and the youth and just be realistic.

I think he has made mistakes, but at the same time the biggest mistakes made are by the players themselves and we can't even blame most of them who are rookies or 2nd year guys. It's to be expected. We just need to see the young guys continue to progress, which they are. You can't argue that.

If the players were not progressing then you have a point, but it's the opposite. They are getting better.
