As I've said all along, if we get Russell, it has to be for Wiggins. Our defense would be Bottom 5 if KAT-Wig-Russell shared the floor....and it's already bad enough with just KAT and Wiggins out there at the same time.

Agree. Imagine having KAT, Wiggs and DLo all on the books. Perennial 8th seed and 1st round exits for the next 5 season.

If we trade for Russell we've cemented ourselves in mediocrity for the next 5 years. Yeah, you might squeak into the 7th or 8th seed a couple times. I'm not interested in that.

If this team is going to insist on building around KAT, they must pair him with a dominant defensive big. That's just the harsh reality. I have hope Rosas is smart enough to say no to Russell, but I'm not counting on it.

Aaron Holiday could be the next SGA and that's the type of players we need to target. Rookie or Sophs who have the potential to be really good but are still relatively inexpensive to acquire.

Frank Ntilikina is another player that intrigues me. DSJ could develop in to a decent player in the right environment. I doubt that's with Wolves though with our poor track record of developing players.

The problem with Ntilikina is that he's a poor shooter. We already have Culver and Okogie. We can't afford to bring in another poor-shooting guard regardless of his other promising skills.

Getting Aaron Holiday and a defensive big as Cool suggests would make the Wolves a playoff team with the chance to become a contender.

Well since weve cemented ourselves into loserdoem for 30 years some mediocrity might be a welcome change.

Not for me. I follow plenty of mediocrity including the Wild and Vikings. It's not much fun.

I agree, being a mediocre team isn't fun. You don't even have to be good to make the playoffs, I think the last 8th seed to do anything was NY Knicks and when was that? Like 20 years ago probably. Nobody has a chance to win and challenge as a mediocre team, especially now with the way a couple max guys can join up (LA Teams, GSW) and create super teams.. What is fun is having a contending team.

I would do Wiggins for DLO but I wouldn't really like it that much either. So maybe that makes it a good trade. Then we still have RoCo to look to add more picks and youth as well.

Just thinking, maybe-

Wiggins + Roco

for

DLO + GSW 1st rounder unprotected this year + Salary fillers (Looney, Stein, Poole)

To me the plan isnt mediocrity and that's it. Any move toward professionalism and improvement is good for this team. Executing deals for quality players and retaining those players would be a start. It doesnt have to be DLo. Give the fans something that actually makes a basketball game engaging and entertaining. We're watching paint dry every night.
