Might just want him with the team for a bit. He is averaging 20-10 with some blocks and steals.

FWIW Wolves added James Webb III who is sort of that Modern PF that's a pretty lengthy wing who has played a few years in the G-league before. He is a volume 3 point shooter he played internationally last year. He played and started his first game.

Also my guy Jordon Murphy is shooting .500 on 3's hitting 1 a game playing 15mpg. Per 36 he would be averaging 18-15. He is small though no doubt.

Nowell had 28-11 last game. He really does have a scoring feel. Can he defend? That's my question.

Wiggs is likely out for the jazz game.

Maybe reid is going to be kats pnr partner considering no one else can do it on this team.

He's not a very good basketball player, but maybe he can play Xbox with the kids and keep them loose since he knows them both.

It won't be too hard for him to be better than Marquis Moore the guy they finally let go. Good dude played his butt off, couldn't shoot wasn't really a PG either. Just looked at his stats...I can't believe he started like half the games last year. I like the guy but no wonder that team sucked and they were actually better on offense than defense.

Iowa won last night, taking 58 (!) 3-pointers and making 26 of them. The good news is they are playing with a similar system/philosophy as the big league club.

Nowell went 7-13 from deep and scored 25 points.

McLaughlin went 4-9 from deep, 12 assists, and only one turnover. He led the team with a +32

Lindell Wigginton went 7-12 from deep and scored 25 points off the bench.

Some more observations based on the box score.

Naz Reid went 2-9 from 3. 15 points 15 rebound 2 blocks an 2 steals. Not too shabby

Jordon Murphy went for a cool 11 points 10 rebounds in 22 minutes and went 1/2 on 3's. I'm driving the bandwagon on him but that 3 point shot really looks legit at least on his makes.

Wolves had a guy that's a g-league vet playing his first game this season in Jaylen Johnson. Brandone Francis got a couple minutes I assume in garbage time and hit a 3.

Yeah, I've watched some of their games. Jaylen Nowell has displayed a pure shooting stroke -- different from someone that can simply make shots if everything goes right -- with some advanced dribble moves in his bag. I think he's the anti-Okogie. Offensively, he should have a relatively smooth transition if/when he gets the opportunity. Can he defend? Can he rebound his position? That remains to be seen.

They mentioned on the broadcast that new Timberwolves plays are being used in Iowa, too.

I was surprised to hear this was even newsworthy. I'd assume that would be the only way to run a minor league program... but it's the Wolves. And such logical things don't always work out.

Here was a draft analysis of Nowell's defense:

Defensive Analysis

Fairly competitive defender coming out of an all-zone system. Good rebounder for a guard with the quickness and length to hold his own. Has room to improve defending off the ball, but showed some ability to pressure the ball early in his career.

Defended almost exclusively Spot Ups at the top of Washington's zone.

Nowell averaged 5.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore, which suggests he's a good rebounder for his position. He also averaged 1.3 steals. Looking at those stats plus the draft reviews on his defense coming out of college tell us he's a good rebounder and suggests good defensive potential. This team needs to move on from Teague and reduce Graham's minutes. Their minutes should be reduced and allocated in some proportion
