Good stuff.
When Teague plays decisively like he did in the two games prior to this one, he's the overall better PG than Tyus. But when "bad Teague" shows up, our whole offense just gets stuck in the mud.
The other thing about Tyus is that he makes all sorts of plays on the defensive end that impact the game, not all of which shows up in the stat sheet.

Jones' savvy on D really is cool to watch.
He's better on that end of the court than I would have ever imagined. Obviously, he's limited by size/athleticism and even skill a bit... but he's an incredibly smart player.

...and there is really only so much a PG can do these days. Marcus Smart and Beverley might be the only two true stopper types that can just physically overwhelm guys at times. Tyus is just really clever and has elite anticipatory skills. I think that's about all you can ask from a PG these days on the defensive end because it's really hard to stay in front all the time and navigate all the screens.

Been tracking his brother at Duke a bit... kid currently has about a 6-to-1 A/TO ratio. We all know about how well Tyus avoids TOs... but his brother is surpassing him thus far in college.
I'm sure that will go up a bit during conference play, but it's still pretty amazing for a freshman.

The thread title is misleading. Your Plus 1 is really a Plus 2 with you slipping in the Wiggins comment. Other than that bait and switch I'm happy to see this thread make a return!

I wonder if a fan will ever say we won because of the officials. lol
I think we see and remember the bad calls that go against us, but are soon to dismiss those that go the other way.
Were the calls against KAT ticky tack, sure. But he just has to do a better job of defending without fouling. I'm sure you could find an OKC fan or two who said the officials robbed them.

Favorite Wiggins moment from last night:
We well know that his focus and intensity differs from night to night. Obviously last night he was ultra engaged. When he's that competitive he can be really fun to watch. I'm not sure exactly what play it was down the stretch, it might have even been the eventual 3 by Josh. But Wig was out near midcourt with the defender right up on him. He just stood there palming the ball, right arm extended away from the defender. With the groove he was in, I was thinking Oh Man, this is going to be good. And he didn't disappoint. You could see all of his teammates deferring to him in those last few possessions. They obviously could see and knew he was having a special moment. We might not see it again for a while, but man it was good.

I just hope that Wiggins doesn't revert back to his old ways. I don't expect 40 and 10 from him a night if at all again this season, but bringing the focus, toughness and energy should be his goal every night. He needs to be consistent night in and night out. Sure he will have some bad games, but if he brings energy and hustle every night that is all that we can ask as fans. That's why we gravitate towards Okogie, because even if he goes 1 for 5 shooting he is at least giving everything he has that night.
KAT was also off the court a ton along with Teague and Rose, so a lot of the scoring had to fall to Wiggins by default. He came through though, so much deserved credit.

I'm hoping for baby steps WolvesFan. You're not going to see him turn a 180 over night. But I think we are seeing evidence the intensity is showing up more often, especially on defense. I just want to see the meter continue to move in the right direction.
