Was it interesting? Not really but he sounds like a patently smart and grounded dude. I did think talk about when he quit basketball and played baseball exclusively for a year was interesting. I thought his talk about golf was kinda fun. If you didn't want to listen because you didn't think it would be interesting that's cool you were pretty much right but if feels like there is also the sentiment that he might be a fake. That's too bad.
For me, it's not "fake" as in he's lying.
More like "fake" like he's a 21 year old who really really really wants to do the right thing to grow his brand. So he could talk for an hour and offer little more than what he thinks he should say or the normal platitudes/cliches a lot of athletes use. Nothing is inherently wrong with that.
To be fair, I probably wouldn't find the vast majority of 21 year olds to be interesting, if they were a pro athlete or not.
[Note: I know Lip was bothered by it, too. I hope this makes it more clear.]

Fair enough.
I'll say that we ask a lot of these guys sometimes. It's fair and unfair after all they get to play a game and get paid a ton of money (much much more to come) to do it. Wiggins doesn't talk enough. Towns talks a lot but doesn't talk about anything. Of the 3 Lavine is probably the most interesting cause it seems like he just is a guy talking.
The kinda weird thing about Towns is I think he is probably a really interesting dude but yeah I think the reality is in some cases I think he tries too hard. He said a few times in this spot he likes to do his own thing (sorta paraphrasing) I think he might be a bit more like KG than I would of thought. KG is/was both out there talking all the time demonstrative and yet was a bigtime introvert and obviously pretty sensitive in some ways. Towns is unlikely to be that whacky but it can be difficult to navigate all that even when you are just a regular dude much less a guy that's a face of a sports franchise.
I like your stance Abe that you are gonna wait and see and actions speak louder than all the stuff they say that can certainly make them sound good. Besides people can change their minds.
