Re: Wolves Sans Butler - 19 Game Remaining
As I mentioned in Big O's thread, I just don't think we had enough separation prior to Butler's injury to really survive the next few weeks. It's unfortunate the West ended up so good again, because may be if it was like last year where the 8th seed was really quite mediocre, we'd have a chance.
I see New Orleans beat Milwaukee on the road. Not good!!!!

I still see 10 wins, maybe 11 if we steal one. The last 10 games could shift too if seeds are set. I don't think there's any way we slip out of playoffs; but I definitely think we lose home court. All in all I hope we get 5 or 6 and have some compelling games than having Houston or GS run us off the court.

If we keep getting All-Star level Jeff Teague, we probably don't slide past the sixth-seed. He's been on a tear lately averaging about 18 and 8.

It's good to see. And with Bjelly in for Butler, he has even more of a green light so perhaps there is less indecision in his game since he's really our 2nd or 3rd option instead of 4th.

Still.....we have huge problems defensively. There is no getting around that and ultimately that is what will sink this team.

San Antonio wins, NOLA wins, Denver loses. Goodbye 3rd place.

It woulda been nice if the east coulda helped us out on one of those games.
Q says the West is so good...I disagree to some extent let me explain. It's REALLY good at the top with GS and Houston in a class by themselves. Then because of inconsistency or injury or both there is a bunch of good but not really good teams left including the Wolves. Most of us thought OKC would be one of the cream of the crop this year but they are part of that group. The Blazers are both scary and vulnerable. Nurkic isn't the impact guy I expected. But making this point it still supports what Q is saying that the West has good teams you have to beat out to be in the playoffs. My point is a lot of those teams are a bit more vulnerable than what may look at first glance. I'm a little more optimistic after the way Lip laid things out but whew I'm not getting my hopes up too high. I am looking forward to seeing some guys step up. I think there are guys that will. Will it be enough? Let's see. Bring it on.

But now the bench is pretty much Crawford #1, Crawford #2, Tyler #3, Crawford #4, with Dieng and Crawford splitting the shots of #5.

I'm not sure how that's different than what it was before. Lol If you look at Crawford's stats they don't look exciting at first but the guy is absolutely on fire shooting on long 2's hitting basically 50% from that range. If he gets rolling (especially from 3) with more playing time I can live with him taking plenty of shots. His efficiency is actually a bit more palatable this year. He also has nights where he makes some nice passes. Dieng at times in his career has looked like he could get it going in some situations but for whatever reason this year not so much. This year he is mostly been a spacer or has hit a couple bail out shots. I think teams going smaller doesn't help him offensively. Dieng and Crawford seem to have developed some more chemistry though in the 2 man game but it's nothing like what he had with Lavine.
