Right to try to get more offense in the lineup, terrible choice of player to do it. Well at least they split up Kmart and Bazz in the platoon situation.

I'd like to punch Sam in the mouth for choosing to start KMart. Every 4 letter word you can think of is running through my head right now.

I am hot LST. It's not a stretch to say KMart has been our worst player this year.

I don't disagree...I have said the two main reasons we are under .500 are Ricky's injury and KMart's poor shooting.

But there's a silver lining in this for all you "Zach at SG" guys. This puts Prince on the bench and moves Wig to SF, so the logical next step is moving Zach to back up Martin and either Miller or Tyus to back up Ricky. I don't like it, of course, because I think this makes us a much worse defensive team and I also like Zach with the ball in his hands. But I suspect that overall this move will make most Wolves' fans happy. They'll be turning cartwheels over at rubechat!

I'm ok with Sam doing some experimenting with lineups but I do hope LaVine doesn't lose overall minutes. If LaVine plays primarily with the second unit, I'd like to see Miller get back in the rotation.

I assume Zach will still back up Rubio, but Prince to the bench ought to create more minutes for Zach at SG as well, or minutes for Bazz, or both.

K-Mart in the starting lineup ought to space the floor better. If Prince actually plays with the 2nd unit, his presence may help that unit share the ball. It could be good for everyone!

Tim, It's an offense for defense tradeoff and Mitchell is betting that we gain more in offensive efficiency than we lose in defensive efficiency. We'll see.....

My hope is that Prince was not nearly as good defensively as his numbers suggest because he was playing with KG, Towns, Rubio, and Wiggins. If that's the case, than perhaps the defensive dropoff with Martin in the lineup won't be very material.

Again, that's my hope....

That's exactly the bet Sam is making. I'm more of a defense guy so it's not a move I would make...let's hope it works out.

I like Q's next post too...the one hoping that maybe Prince wasn't the reason for the first unit's stellar defense. I hope that too, since Tay is not a core piece going forward. Unfortunately, this move is more than just Martin for Prince though... there's also a domino effect in which Wig has to move to the 3, negating the size advantage he enjoys at the 2.

I am good with this move. I think Martin is better then Prince, but the key will be how that unit plays together. Martins shot was not falling against the Pistons, but he seemed to be a magnet for the ball collecting 7 boards. I will be curious how Wiggins plays next to Martin. I think what he has been doing being aggressive and I hope that doesn't stop now. This will be a great test for him to stay aggressive.
