I agree that Dunn should be much better than Russell. Dunn is a complete point guard and I think he'll be a top ten point guard in the league. Russell isn't much of a defender and I want two way players.

I don't follow college BB so I couldn't offer any opinion in terms of Russell's value vs. a top 3-5 pick in the next draft.
Another question I would have is, assuming all of KAT, Wiggins, Lavine, and Russell excel good luck keeping that core together as they all come off their rookie contracts over two years!
Not sure he's much of a defender AND he hasn't exactly shot it well from outside. Do we really want to roll the dice that he'll "get it" at some point, especially with the Wolves, where shooters go to die?
Not worth it in my opinion. If we are looking for a new PG, let's not take a step backwards, only to cross our fingers that eventually Russell becomes good. Let's just draft Kris Dunn.

Do you hear yourself? Dunn is just as big of a risk as Russell if you want to go that route. Would you have taken Dunn over Russell in the draft last year? I know most would not have so Dunn shouldn't be thought of as a better option now.
Yes, I would have probably taken Dunn ahead of Russell then (I have always been skeptical of Russell) and if they were both in this coming draft I would take Dunn absolutely ahead of Russell. Dunn has improved his stock his year and Russell has not.

Dunn is playing against college players.
Russell is playing against NBA players... in arguably the most caustic environment for a 19-year-old guard in the entire league. Yet he's still found a serviceable role next to the likes of Lou Williams, Nick Young and Kobe Bryant.
Yet I saw where at least one poster wouldn't give up even LaVine for him?

Russell has some major issues with athleticism on both sides of the floor, i would not like to trade for him using anything valuable, he also looks like an entitled brat and the fact that Lakers want to shop him already speaks for itself a ton

I wouldn't give up LaVine for Russell. Their stats are pretty similar, but Zach is far more athletic and to me has the better upside and I think he's more versatile. I think the opinion depends on how good you think Zach will become. Good Zach > Russell > Bad Zach

Smart's the only guy I've seen be projected to go top 5 and go back to school. Dunn wasn't even sniffing the top 5 last year and Russell was all but guaranteed top 3. You may have taken Dunn, but almost literally everyone else would have taken Russell.

I wouldn't give up KAT/Wiggins/Zach/1st for Russell. He was a better player then Dunn last year and will still almost 4 years younger. He would be the perfect person to pair with LaVine, Wiggins, and KAT.

Re: dangelo russell to the wolves?
I don't recall how previous deals affect our pick but given that I expect (ok hope) the wolves to make a run the rest of the season our pick could be in the 7-10 range. I'd trade the pick for Russell.
