Unless we move back into the lottery to get him or if Flip has a juicy trade down offer and wants to do his due diligence. I would bet heavily he picks Okafor, Towns, or Russell.

Anything could happen Mudiay could drop enough spots and maybe Flip thinks he can move up. It wasn't that long ago Mudiay was one of THE guys in this draft class. I'd want to do a workout with him considering his post HS playing situation and I would Think Mudiay has more to gain from working out than not. Maybe Flip talked to Marbury about him. Lol Actually I wouldn't be shocked if Flip did he seems to talk to just about anyone.

I agree. And trading Rubio at the bottom of his market value would be moronic. I dont see that happening either

Mudiay won't get past Sacramento at No. 6, so I don't see Flip moving assets to climb high enough to draft him either.

...Anybody else thinking about if Mudiay slips past NY at No. 4 if George Karl and the Kings would make a deal? Perhaps Karl would prefer a pass-first PG to feed all the scorers SAC has.

Rubio, Bjelica, 31 and 36 for 6 and Landry. Fillers would need to be thrown in to match contracts, but essentially something like that.

I could see that happening. I could see Flip being in. I don't know enough about Mudiay to say if I'm in or not. His game seems a lot like Rubio's, and we already know Rubio can play well in the league so that leaves me hesitant. Ehh, not really. Mudiay's a guy that attacks the rim relentlessly and can finish with either hand. Already that sets him apart from Rubio. He's also not as good of a passer or has as high of a basketball IQ, but he's just 19-years old and very capable in both areas. I think it's more likely that Mudiay becomes a top PG in the league than Rubio does, which is why I'd probably do the trade.

Cam I think you are probably as high on Mudiay as anyone and sound like you have some knowledge. Nobody has made the case for Mudiay really despite the thread title and I am certainly not expecting you to make a case for him #1 I'd like to hear you make a case for why a team would want him at an obviouly later spot. If feel like he is a big mystery to me and it was only a few months ago he was one of the top prospects people were buzzing about.

The case for him is he is going to be one of the most physically intimidating PG's in the league. He's a big PG and Ford tweeted a picture of him having put on 9 lbs of muscle since the last time he saw him in person. He'll be able to get to the rim and his size should help him be a very good finisher. The two big knocks on him are his jump shooting and his lack of competition in China not really properly showcasing his abilities. If he cares about defense he has the tools to be a really good defender and on offense he seems to be a pretty good stat stuffer all-around. He's tough to gauge, but it sounds to me like he's a John Wall type who is probably a tier below Wall across the board.
