Yep. And with a bunch of good PF/C options in this year's draft, we certainly better be able to plug one of those holes. Sprinkle in some decent vets (Martin can still play)
and we all should have less to complain about next year.
Heh, I've heard that before....
I think we have two of our top 6 in Rubio and Wiggins. I'm by no means sold on LaVine or Bazz yet as true core pieces on a playoff team. At least not yet.
Bazz had a very nice sophomore campaign before getting hurt, but the guy still struggled a lot on defense. He needs to round out his game to be a true core piece. Given his work ethic, I'm cautiously optimistic. Of course the other concern with him, like seemingly every other player on our roster, is injuries.

Rubio, Bazz, Wiggins.
it's all we have. I wouldn't lose sleep if we dealt or cut everyone else.

For me Wiggins is the only true untouchable. He is the franchise. I hope we nail our pick and build a competent team around him.

I see Wiggins and LaVine as the two untouchables on this roster. Rubio is a borderline untouchable. His ankle and shooting difficulties keep me from putting him fully in the untouchable category.

I'd include LaVine in that group. I know it's garbage games, but his last five he's averaging:
17.8 points/5.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists. It only five games, but it's a nice "flash" of what this kid is capable of doing. He's still so young - nobody really expected this kid to be NBA ready so his early struggles were not a surprise. But he's starting to hold his own now....and who knows what his ceiling might be. You hold onto guys like that IMO.

I wouldn't just cut Dieng either because he is young and can actually play and I wouldn't just cut Martin either we should be able to get something out of him but yeah I don't disagree with what you are saying.

Rubio has gone from untouchable to not shopping him, but willing to listen. You need a core guy that isn't hurt all the time. Rubio isn't a guy thy can carry a team either, but if you have great players around him he is the PG I want. I hate ball hog PGs.

When suggesting having 4 of our top 6 of the future I was by no means saying the rest are trash or cut worthy (granted others did). I have hopes for Dieng being part of an 8-9 man rotation and Martin can shoot & get to the line. I also still have a little hope for the other young guys who have struggled so far.

Wiggins doesn't appear to be letting up much tonight.

Not one bit. It's awesome to watch this guy. The scary thing is he is nowhere near being a finished product. The kid has a legitimate chance of picking up the torch from Lebron as the best player in the game. So fun to watch it all unfold.
