@JerryZgoda: Wiggins scores 18 on 6/13 shooting, Bennett w/ 13-10 double double, Canada beats Luis Scola & Argentina 85-80 in Puerto Rico today
Josh Lewenberg (Raptors beat writer) said AB was the best Canadian on the court today...nice to hear with guys like Wiggins, Olynyk and Nicholson on the team. He played both center and PF and led the team in minutes played.
Forgive me, but if Bennett truly was the best player on the court, I'm not sure that's real good news for Wolves fans. Wiggins should easily be the best player on that team.
I wouldn't worry about Wiggins. He played fine. Efficient scoring. Most headlines were that Wiggins led the team, so I wouldn't worry that one beat writer thought AB had the best game (AB did play a ton of minutes and got 13 rebounds, a block and steal, but shootingwise he wasn't as efficient as Wiggins). Best thing, no reported injuries for either player.
Against Brazil, AB scored 16 points, had 2 boards and 0 assists. Andrew had a subpar game.
The Bennett hate has reached ridiculous levels. The guy played 14 minutes, and was 6/7 fromt the field, 2/2 from three, and 2/2 on FT's. That is 16 pts on 7 shots with 2 rebs and 1 BS. Nothing short of fantastic in my eyes.
Now Wiggins going 2/10 for 9 pts would be called subpar.
edit: My bad on the Andrew/Anthony mix up (it was late :snore: ), but where is the love from TR for Bennett.

Isn't that what TeamRicky wrote? Or did Bennett change his first name to Andrew?
I don't like the 2 rebounds for AB, but in all fairness, he was playing out of position at center. Nice to see him hitting both of his threes though...I hope Flip is paying attention.
The Wolves have two PFs putting up really nice stats in international play...AB and Nemanja Bjelica. Let's hope they both can keep up this level of play when training camp starts.
I'm not too concerned about Wiggins' performance, because we know what he can do. Canada kind of coasted to victory in this game (AB only played 14 minutes) so Andrew may not have been too motivated. Still, it was nice to see him get 4 offensive rebounds...that's a part of his game that has some potential.

2 Rebs for a big sounds pathetic but it was in less than 15 mins and what I always look at is whether that player's team got boards and in this case yes. Canada almost doubled up Brazil in that category (43-24) so Bennett not getting a lot of rebounds seems fine in that context because without a doubt someone else on his team got them.

I remember two specific debates on this board where some argued that Dieng's a better rebounder than Pek and the retort was that the Wolves still rebounded the ball better with Pek than with Dieng.
Also, we weren't hearing about team rebounds when Thad Young was here. It's a pick-and-choose type debate, I suppose...
In the end, though, all that matters is your team out-rebounding the others.
