FIBA qualifying Bennett hype Thread

Post by Monster »

Well this is good news if you wanted to be sure Bennett was gonna get plenty of minutes.

It's been interesting what has gone down with TT and the Cavs the last year or so.

What happened with TT and the Cavs? I could have sworn they had a verbal agreement during the moratorium. I think he's another guy that just way overvalues his services. He rebounds and plays defense. That's not worth a max deal. If I'm the Cavs I just keep reminding him of the finals game where he finished with 2 points. It seems to me his agent is trying to take advantage of the Lebron relationship to extort the Cavs for this deal. I think this was his shot at big money because Love and Varejao come back next year and nobody came in with a max deal so he should probably just take the deal that was on the table (I think it was in the ball park of 15 million a year).

I think it may be worth posting Flips last public comments about Bennett in this thread. August 31 when this next tourney starts will be here soon.

The crowd might be bad news for Anthony Bennett. Have you decided what you're going to do about his fourth-year option?

We're going to evaluate him over the summer. He played a good Pan American Games. There is no question about his talent. It's about getting in shape. He's in shape now. But it's going to be competitive with all those guys, and also Bjelica, who no one talks about.

Scouts tell me it's "between the ears" with Bennett.

It's confidence. But his lack of confidence is about the fact that he's never been healthy since he left UNLV. You always tell players not to let injuries take away from their talent, but it can happen.

@michaelgrange: The Canadian men's national team for 2015 -- No English; Murray off to UK; Sacre over Bhullar: http://t.co/JgLA4rx2Ey

No Murrey

Another positive for Bennett this summer he made the cut! Lol

My guy Ejim made the team.

I just hope he has positive trade value. I seriously doubt he'll be with the team for the 2016-17 season.
Would love to swap him for Terrence Ross, but I don't see that happening unless AB plays well in preseason.

One of the things I like about AB's game is his ability to catch the ball in traffic and score...I think he could really be effective on the second unit with Miller if he had the chance.

But mostly in this video I see the body language and lack of effort that frustrates most of us about AB. I know it's only a scrimmage, but why is he the only one not getting across mid-court on offense on two series? He's a tough guy to figure out.

It's a warm up game but the 2 wolves guys did some good work.

@JerryZgoda: Wiggins scores 18 on 6/13 shooting, Bennett w/ 13-10 double double, Canada beats Luis Scola & Argentina 85-80 in Puerto Rico today

Josh Lewenberg (Raptors beat writer) said AB was the best Canadian on the court today...nice to hear with guys like Wiggins, Olynyk and Nicholson on the team. He played both center and PF and led the team in minutes played.

My definition of success for Team Canada: Wiggins not getting hurt.
