That's what seemed so odd about the Mike Malone firing. It sure seemed like just when Cousins had a coach who could light the fire under him and who could reach him... and win with him... they fire him?

FOR TYRONE CORBIN?

Don't you at least owe it to yourself to let it play out a bit longer and see if it's fool's gold or not? I think Cousins is immature and has red flag issues... but Sacramento's moves last season were confusing at best.

Yeah exactly. Also as a small sidenote Gay had his most efficient season of his career in that 50+ games playing for Malone after coming over from Toronto despite not shooting the 3 well. Like you said it all could have been fools gold but why not let it play out more and find out?

At least we have the Kings. Man is that team a mess. What are the odds both Karl and Cousins are back next year? Karl was a horrible hire. There is a reason he has not coached for a while.

As fans of one of the historically poorest franchises in the modern NBA, we have very little ground to stand on when throwing stones at other franchises for their foibles and poor decisions.

(but that doesn't mean it isn't a heck of a lot of fun!)

So the real question is whether Boogie or Love was a bigger headcase? Or who is more worth the drama is maybe a better way of phrasing it?

DMC is the bigger head case but when he's on his game has greater impact on the game at both ends of the floor IMO. Love is phenomenal on offense when he's the focus and virtually useless on defense. Neither is a positive force in the locker room from what I've read.

Wait. Didn't he win 55 or so games just a couple seasons ago?

And it's not like Denver got better when he left...

I know some have asked what it would take to get DMC, but I think the simply answer is WAY more than the Wolves would be willing to pay a mercurial star like Cousins. Rudy, on the other hand, could be someone more attainable. I would call them immediately about a Rubio for Rudy swap. Contracts are very similar, and they could be dealt straight up.

Would be even better if we could expand deal to include Collison.

Maybe Gay/Collison for Rubio/Bjelica/#36

Karl clearly wants some high character guys, which Rubio is....and they are definitely looking for a long term answer at PG.

Just spit-ballin here, but following lineup looks fairly strong:
Towns/Pek/Dieng
KG/Payne (hopefully Towns and Dieng rather than Payne)
Gay/Chase/Hummel
Wiggins/Martin/Lavine
Collison/Lavine/Vet PG

If Flip even considers making that trade, I'd be calling for his head....and I actually like Rudy (to an extent)., but Rudy makes Rudy better, and is redundant with what we have in Wiggins.

Why are so many people so excited to ditch our "current" best player?

Cool is completely right...how much does it say about a guy when he's had multiple coaches fired already, and the veteran coach that's there, wants to trade his young star.

Yes! As in no to Rudy Gay and yes to Collison as a backup PG behind Rubio.

You think he wanted Malone fired?
