At this point it's just a flat out gamble just to trade AB for Ebiid. I just don't feel like making that gamble right now even if there is that chance of him getting healthy. If I am the Sixers why unload him for nothing? Might as well hope he get healthy and does something or anything. If not just let him go at the end of his contract.

I would rather trade AB for the 76ers second rounder next year because it will be like a late first rounder.

I would do a AB for embiid straight up. Yes, embiid might never play but Ab is as good as gone the way the team has handled him this offseson. We may be looking at a trade dump for Ab soon. Embiid is a big risk but a huge talent that is on a rookie deal that we just choose to not pick up his option year from now worst case scenario.
On the sixers side. I doubt they would do this deal. They have okafor, noel, thompson and landry in their frontline and saric waiting on the side. Unless they really love ab and will commit to develop him by playing him next season then they will just rather hold onto embiid themselves.

Makes no sense for the 76ers to deal Embiid. His trade value is end of the bench guys and second rounders. Might as well hope and pray Embiid will heal and be as good as advertised coming out before trying to move him or one of the other bigs.

Yup. exactly my point. I would jump at this deal in a heartbeat. But doubt sixers would consider it unless they love ab(highly unlikely)

Here's the thing though, if Philly unloads Embiid, then they believe his career is over and want someone else paying his salary. If they thought he'd be out just another year, he won't be traded. Philly has the info advantage and its a losing proposition to try to trade for him.

Or they just believe Okafor can handle the C duties and they'd rather move on to finding another piece rather than wait another year for Embiid. I don't buy the notion that them trading Embiid means he's done. He can't play for them this year and they just drafted another franchise center to play this year. I don't think AB is the piece to get it done, but I also wouldn't consider them trading Embiid for a guard or wing as a white flag on Embiid's career. They eventually have to deal one of Noel/Embiid/Okafor so if the right piece is there why not make the move now so the new guy can play and grow chemistry with Noel and Okafor?
