Emphatic No. I don't value AB, but I do value the first round pick. I don't have much hope that Embiid will overcome his foot injury and he'd be contractual and roster space deadweight.

I would trade AB at this point for a bag of potato chips, but I wouldn't trade him for Embiid.

Really? I think I would trade AB for Embiid straight up if the medical guys thought he had a chance to recover. A swap of former #1s who have not amounted to anything?

But I wouldn't add a 1st round pick...

This is how I feel too. I'd leave it up to my medical staff, but I wouldn't throw in an extra pick being he's been out for the majority of 3 straight seasons. (college, 2 NBA seasons)

Is there something about the Wolves medical staff that past couple years that gives your confidence in their abilities?

Unfortunately the odds are looking more likely that we have an Oden, Yao Ming or Sam Bowie situation. Even if he resurrects his career like Ilgauskas, the long layoff will result in an out of shape player who will have been more than 2 years away from a basketball court. And its not just his foot that's been a problem-its his back too. Guys with serious injuries like that tend to play a bit tentative. Also, you lose at least two years off a rookie contract and if he ever becomes a valuable player, he'll be paid accordingly. Just not worth the gamble when we already got Pek on the roster.

If he had a Bowie like career I would trade Bennett for him. I wouldn't add a first though. Bowie was decent for the Nets.
