Possibly the biggest week in a long time for this franchise. This offseason may decide really whether a franchise in Minnesota is tenable long term in my mind. I just dont see how we can recover if we screw up and fall into another rebuild cycle. Certainly Glen would have to revisit selling the team and with a new owner would come lots of uncertainty. The main thing I am reading between the lines is that Flip is planning on playing Bazz and Dieng and that Bud really was a signing that Adelman wanted. I said after I saw him in person that Bud looked ready for retirement. Until I see otherwise from the guy I am really skeptical that he will come back with a real bounce out there. 2 injuries in a row is never good news for a basketball player.
I have seen a couple cryptic statements like this lately. Have the Target Center renovations and that new Mayo practice facility been put on hold? If they're still going through all that I can't imagine them letting the team move within the next 10-15 years. I guess they could, good news for the Lynx they'd get all those cool new toys to themselves.
All it takes is some real financial hard times for the team. Another rebuild would completely kill attendance and new expenses on the books which you mention could be a recipe for disaster. I don't think we can afford another 5 years out of the playoffs even with improved infrastructure around the team.

The city/state/Taylor isn't going to invest 100 million in the renovations plus whatever the training facility may cost to just shrug and let them leave 2-3 years after the project is finished. I'm sure there are "outs" but their lease runs through 2032.

We were 27th in attendance last year. Going for broke for the playoffs didn't put anyone in the seats anyway so the best option is to build a team who can make the playoffs for years plural, not year singular. That is the only way to get the fan base back. A 1 year run will just put us back at the bottom in 2 years.
