Zgoda with an uncharacteristically good blog post
Zgoda had a conversation with Flip and posted a bunch of tidbits a few days ago. I haven't seen it posted here, so here it is:

Deing playing some PF alongside Pek was something we all wanted to see towards the end of the year, but Adelman never tried it. Flip thinks it's something that could work...

You mean the minutes that Dante played at PF last year? Also maybe Flip tries to limit Love's minutes a tad and obviously some of Pek's minutes. Should be plenty of minutes for Dieng and a few minutes for Turiaf and. Some opportunities for both guys when Pek misses his games do to. Injury.

My bad monster, I didn't realize we were being serious this morning.

I agree, Tim, that was an interesting write up by Jerry. Here are the things I found most interesting (for those who don't have time to read it).
1) Flip is skilled at criticizing Adelman in a gentle way, and clearly noticed some things that we all did last year (and Adelman didn't). For instance, it was clear to Flip that Bud was in no way ready to play the minutes Adelman gave him.
2) We have heard about Shved, Gorgui and Muhammad lined up to play in Vegas next month, but he also says Bud could get in a few games so the coaches can assess where he is before training camp. Reading between the lines based on Flip's assessment of the versatility of much of the roster, I expect that we will see Shved, Gorgui and Muhammad spending a lot of time in Vegas at a position they didn't play much last year...PG, PF, and SG, respectively. Add Bud or Hummel at SF and anyone at C, and you have the makings of an interesting, and very big, starting 5.
3) Sometimes we get a little too excited about off-season weight changes (yes, I'm talking about you, Derrick Williams) , but I was encouraged to hear Dieng had put on 10-15 pounds and Muhammad had taken off 7-8, and that Flip expected them to continue those trends. Very good news.
4) Flip said nothing about Cunningham, another indication that he is history.
5) A lot of tap dancing about the draft, so I skipped over most of that. Flip isn't going to tip his hand about his draft intentions, and I don't want him to. How many times did he mention Shabazz or Gorgui in the week before the draft last year?
Thanks for posting, Tim...a good kickoff to what is going to be an interesting week!

Possibly the biggest week in a long time for this franchise. This offseason may decide really whether a franchise in Minnesota is tenable long term in my mind. I just dont see how we can recover if we screw up and fall into another rebuild cycle. Certainly Glen would have to revisit selling the team and with a new owner would come lots of uncertainty. The main thing I am reading between the lines is that Flip is planning on playing Bazz and Dieng and that Bud really was a signing that Adelman wanted. I said after I saw him in person that Bud looked ready for retirement. Until I see otherwise from the guy I am really skeptical that he will come back with a real bounce out there. 2 injuries in a row is never good news for a basketball player.

I have seen a couple cryptic statements like this lately. Have the Target Center renovations and that new Mayo practice facility been put on hold? If they're still going through all that I can't imagine them letting the team move within the next 10-15 years. I guess they could, good news for the Lynx they'd get all those cool new toys to themselves.

Agreed Doper. This is a big week and probably a make or break year for a lot of fans. We were teased last year with a relatively healthy team and tired coach. Now we have a probable trade of our best player and more uncertainty about a couple others and a temporary coach.
But it's good to see this board active throughout, tells me fans here are optimistic with our prospects. I'm not willing to hang around for another rebuild if we trade Love. Whatever our roster looks like in November, it better be a challenging playoff team with potential in a couple more years to compete for a title.
