Hinkie's salary should be a dollar until he rectifies what he's done to that organization. He's so driven to find stars that he's just dumped useful players because they might help them win too much. You know who could help Noel and Okafor and getting them the ball in good spots? MCW. McDaniels was a defensive terror for them and they traded him for nothing because they didn't want the short term wins that he wasn't going to give them anyway and they weren't going to pay him. By the time they decide to "go for it" they'll still fail because they have no veteran leaders coaching up the young guys now how to handle losing and how to become winners. Hinkie's operating like it will change overnight and becoming a winner with a young team takes years if at all. The only time fortunes change overnight is when a guy like Lebron comes to your team and they have no shot at any transformative player going there. Ben Simmons isn't going to help someone be a good team in the next year or two. Even as good as Towns has been, we're still 5-8 because our young guys are still learning how to win. Hinkie should be rounding up every veteran leader looking for their last pay day and start paying big money short term to get some guys who know how to be NBA players on that roster before it's too late.

Part of me thinks we're 5-8 because our veterans have missed games (Rubio, Pekovic, KG), not necessarily because our young talent can't get the job done.

The Promise of Hope.
Even if it's a Miracle.

David Aldridge writes some interesting stuff about the 6ers in his latest.

Needing the veterans to win games means our veterans are getting the job done, not our young guys. If our young guys could get the job done it wouldn't matter how many games the vets missed.

That makes zero sense to me Khans.

I feel bad for the sixers fanbase as well. We were calling for David kahns head a season or 2 into his time here. How long has hinkie beennin charge? I know its been about only 3 seasons but it feels longer than that and it doesn't look like a turnaround is right around the corner. It's embarrassing and depressing for the fans.
Brett brown is a fine coach but he may never get another head coaching opportunity again unless he stayed with the sixers for 5-6 seasons and is their coach when that turnaround happens for them, whenever that may be.

How does that possibly make zero sense? If we win when the veterans play and lose when they don't how is that not them getting the job done when we win? If the young guys can get the job done then why does our winning rely on the veterans so much? I don't get why my stance is confusing at all.

I know I am in the minority but I like what hinkie, is doing and I hope dosen't work because it will hurt the long run of the nba. But I do think his thinking is right, if that makes any sense

Sure, using math... it works sense as long as you have a long enough leash with ownership.
The fans? Fuck them. That's basically Philly's reasoning.
