For a contender like Houston Lawson makes a ton of sense. It's all about fit though, will Lawson do the small things to win championships? I look at those great Bulls teams. You had Michael and Scottie and a bunch of role players. You need guys who do the dirty work and the non glamorous tasks. Will Lawson be willing to be more of a glue guy than a star.
Lawson was one of the best guys on the Nuggets that made the WCF, do people forget how good this guy is?

Not saying he is a bad player. It was a good risk Houston took to bring him in. Question is will he be a good fit. Will he and Harden's game work well together. It's not a question of if he has skill. He clearly does. The question is if his skill set is a fit.

If Dwight gets back to his Orlando roots defensively it doesn't matter who your backcourt is. He can cover for a lot. I would guess they would stagger Lawson and Harden so Harden plays more with Beverly and Lawson plays more with Brewer. Yes Lawson is a drunk off the court, but the guy averaged 15 and 9 last year and just got put on a contender who was playing Prigioni in that spot. The top of the West is ridiculous right now.
I think Harden and Lawson's game together makes a lot of sense. Both are good shooters and Lawson played with other PGs in Denver right? Lawson has a sort of SG aspect to his game. McHale likes to play guys to their strengths he doesn't care about positions. The bottom line is if Lawson can get his stuff together. If he does damn.
Ariza on the wing and Howard in the middle cover for a lot of others' sins defensively. And if I'm not mistaken, Harden picked it up a notch last year defensively.
