Would anyone entertain a Teague/#11 for Porter/#38?

Why for Bulls?
- I guess it is unclear the path Bulls are on. They are no where near a competitive team, so a large contract like Porter seems to not fit.
- They need a PG. An expiring stop-gap like Teague may be enticing, as it makes the draft a bit more flexible for them in taking BPA.
- Continue to build around Carter/Marki/Lavine through draft with #7 & #11

Why for Wolves?
- Solid defender & lights-out 3 point shooter. Shooting 43% from 3 over past 3 seasons.
- Fits with age of our core
- Hefty contract, but Wolves are not able to get impact FA due to cap constraints of current contracts

I wouldn't. Taking on all that salary and giving away the 11th as well wouldn't make sense. Porters is a good player, but we already have a similar player in RoCo who signed for a third of the price.

If they wanted to unload LaVine I would offer a swap of Teague and a couple of future 2nd to get him back.

Porter has a player option after this year and even if he is likely to pick that up...it's not like he is locked in for a long time or anything which matters in terms of this trade thinking for both sides. It's an interesting deal to consider. I think if you were serious about doing this you have to move another wing in a deal. There is also some value for some team in getting a younger player like Porter that isn't locked in for a bunch of years. If you don't give up much you aren't locked in for very long if it doesn't work out. It's kinda crazy that both Porter and Kelly Oubre Jr are elsewhere.

According to doogie (if u believe him):

His western contact on a team with cap space says Rosa's has put wiggs and saric in trades.

His eastern contact on a team with cap space says wiggs and saric or cov were ever mentioned in talks. Then who was? Teague and dieng.

Wolves have been in talks with the suns for 6.

West continues to get stacked. Pelicans and Lakers are on paper in my opinion better than the wolves

Lakers are pretty much a lock to win the West now, they still can sign another free agent still.

What is interesting is what the Pels do with that #4 pick. Right now they are pretty well stocked on the perimeter. Do they moves some guys? Do they make other deals? Is there a big they could take at #4? Could it be available in a trade? AD is a big move in the offseason but I would guess that they aren't done making moves.

The good news is that the Pelicans don't need a PG. So this might open a path for the Wolves to end up with Garland.

Teague and #11 for the rights to Garland at #6.
