Wiggins needs less possessions -- not more.

Minnesota needs to rely on Wiggins less -- not more.

Let it go. Just let him go.

We know he does nothing off the ball so I fail to see how playing him to be a cutter and spot up shooter is playing into his strengths. That just feeds right into his ability to stand around and watch on the perimeter. Point Wiggins at least forces him to be engaged in the game and again we already suck so what is the real downside trying to get more out of our second max player? Another lottery pick?

Wiggins handling the ball as a point forward makes his teammates worse. He can post up smaller players and cut to the basket. Shooting is something anyone can improve with practice. But he'll remain a terrible ballhandler and a major liability in some sort of point forward role.

Yes, relying less on Wiggins would be a positive. Using him as a primary ballhandler to run the offense essentially as a point forward goes in the opposite direction. I'm just surprised anyone who's been watching the Wolves would be advocating for using Wiggins in that sort of role. It's mind-boggling.

I think point Culver is our best choice if we wanna go that route.

I agree. Maybe point Towns. Or how about point-Gorgui? :)

Wiggins is the lump of coal Timberwolves fans got for Christmas. I cannot wait for the day we no longer have to talk about him!

Here is my thoughts, I agree with Lip and Cam that we should be trying to rely on Wiggins less and less especially in ball handling situations. He was bad last year in PnR situations, being ranked 94th out of 102 players in points per possession of players that have 3+ PnR situations a game.

I will say though, it is hard to keep him away from this role based on roster construction. He is 1 of 2 players on the wolves that can score in Iso situations (Teague and Wiggins). Napier, Okogie, Laymen, Cov, Bell, Vonleh, KBD haven't proven they can score in iso situations. We will see about Culver but I still wouldn't expect a rookie to contribute a ton like this.

If the Wolves would of gotten Russell, I would of said keep the ball out of Wiggins hands but because of the lack of scorers unfortunately we will have to rely on Wiggins again this year. And because of that we will need to run some (not a lot) of point Wiggins to keep him engaged and hopefully get him in a groove.

But if the Wolves run solely Point Wiggins at end of quarters I am going to be pissed. You can do it here and there but man we relied on that way to much last year. We need to find a way to get Kat the ball at end of quarters. We just have to.

Also its obvious but offense should focus around Kat. But based on roster construction I hope Wiggins improved this offeseason in the workouts that we see because we need him if the Wolves are going to be good (I know the odds are low)

Saunders talked about this in the Lowe Post podcast. That they had success running point Kat during the season with a small sample size. He said he did it to keep things fresh but it had success. I just have to imagine have Kat have the ball is a good thing. Also Gorgui is a good passer, I don't know why Wiggins and Gorgui can't create chemistry offensively like lavine and Gorgui did.

5 years in and we're still hoping, waiting, praying and hoping some more against hope... for Andrew Wiggins.

In an era of NBA basketball where guys are moving year after year from team to team... Wolves fans are stuck watching the new variations of trying to reach and get the most out of the exact same version of Andrew Wiggins.

There's some irony here. Some really shitty, mean-spirited and cruel irony.

[Note: Considering that Steph Curry is now the longest tenured player in the league on his original team... just how many guys have been on the team that drafted them longer than Andrew Wiggins?]

Ha. Good point.

So while Milwaukee has guys like Giannis/Middleton and Portland has McCollum/Lillard and GSW has Curry/Thompson/Green... the Wolves have Wiggins and Dieng.

Cool.
