Ricky -- unless Tyus beats out Dunn, why do you think he will see the floor? It is not in Thibs' character to play more than 9 guys.

I don't know if he will or won't get regular minutes. I was responding to a concern that Dunn at 2 would give us poor shooting at our guards and Tyus can shoot. That's all. And Thibs keeps talking about flexibility. Maybe in Chicago there were only 9 guys worth playing. If he likes more than 9 guys getting regular minutes, we could see a deeper rotation. I'd expect that he's not necessarily locked into a 9 man rotation.

If he does go with 9 and still plans to add another guard/wing, then I guess Tyus and either Belly or Bazz are the odd men out and I'd like to see all 3 of those get time, but I don't think Tyus will under thibs.

Looks like Pau's definitely going to the Spurs now, no surprise. But that's not a minutes conundrum we'll have to worry about!
I hope Thibs has learned from the criticism he got in Chicago and the success Pop has had in limiting guys' minutes. 82 games is a grind. And with our younger roster, giving guys like Bazz, Bjelica, and even Tyus some burn is just a smart investment because it will either help them develop, increase their trade value, or prove that we shouldn't be playing them!
Guys, I'd be curious to see what your ideal minutes breakdown looks like, and what you'd expect from Thibs.

How much time can you realistically think Dunn can play at the two? This board generally criticizes our outside shooting, yet so many of us think you can go significant stretches with two guards who can't shoot. I see Dunn playing very little at the two, and if he does we are going to be much easier to defend.
I think Dunn capable of playing the 2 for plenty of minutes. Defensively, he'll be good there. Offensively, he did shoot 37% from 3 the last 2 years.
If we're easier to defend while Dunn is at the 2 because he can't shoot the 3, it's also the fault of the PG (Rubio and Tyus) and the SF (Wiggins) who are all below-average 3 point shooters. That would be a team problem, not just a Dunn problem.

We played Ricky/Wiggins/Prince last year. Ricky/Dunn/Wiggins is gonna be playable.

I know teams never press, but a half-court trap with dunn/ricky/wig could be very disruptive against a 2nd tier pg. Yes? Dieng isn't very nimble but I think Towns could handle it here and there.

We won 29 games last year. Neither Ricky nor Dunn can spend much time at all at the 2 guard position. Fuck the 37%, watch the games and how he shoots.

Regarding 3 pt. shooting, Bazz was our best 3pt shooter 2 years ago and I do think he will benefit from Thibs who likes physical hustle players.

Actually K-Mart was.
