My best guesses for other team's coaching vacancies (Nets already signed Atkinson): Walton to NY (or LA if they fire Scott), Ewing to Sacramento, Brooks to Washington.

I think we'll see 2 or 3 more vacancies open up and the teams most likely to change coaches would include the Rockets and Lakers. There's been some speculation that one of the following teams could change coaches: Pelicans, Suns, Grizzlies and Bulls, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Is there a worse coaching job out there than Sacramento?

Talent wise, yes, but the Kings owner is just horrible. So much dysfunction there.

I think the Wolves will end up with Thibs, JVG or Kevin Ollie and I'd be very happy with any of those three. Not sure if Ollie has any interest, but it's clear that both Thibs and JVG want the Wolves job -- probably the dual role. So I think they'll both wait for a decision from the Wolves before accepting any other offers. The Wolves have a lot of leverage. Put yourself in the position of Thibs or JVG. Would you want any of the other currently available head coaching positions over the Wolves' opening? Not a chance and it's not even close.

I can see Luke ending up in Sacramento. Otherwise, I think he'll stay put with the Warriors.

By the way, I have no interest in Luke Walton. He won a lot of games as interim coach of the team that set a new NBA season win record. They won the NBA title last season. Then they won earlier this season under Walton. Then they continued to win when Kerr took the reigns back. So Luke didn't screw up one of the best teams to ever play in the NBA. Ok, that's commendable. But it doesn't make him an elite head coaching candidate in my book.

The only one that I'd say may be competitive would be the Lakers job. The Lakers are going to have a ton of cap room going forward and we all know how easy it's been in the past for them to retool on the fly. So it's a team with a ton of cap room and a revenue situation that lets them go deep into the tax to win that also has a history of winning championships vs a team with good cap space, the best young but not fully realized talent in the league, and a revenue/owner situation that will limit the ceiling in terms of how deep they're willing to go into the tax to win.

Honestly, looking at the rosters as they're made up today you pick the Wolves 10 times out of 10, but we know how fast the Lakers can rebuild so I don't think it's as cut and dry as you say Lip.

He's not leaving Kentucky.
