Could be a blessing in disguise, could be another bad omen to lose a contributor so early in the year.
Dieng looked nervous, he wasn't a particularly bad FT shooter in college and he missed all of them and you could see it in his eyes when he got up and missed one that he might not have thought he was gonna play and wasn't mentally prepared. There was a play where he played extremely good man defense on Ibaka trying to post him up that hopefully is a look into what we can expect in the future from him and chalk how he looked up to first game gitters; for now at least.

Zgoda also tweeted that Bud might be back next week. I remember that Bud was going to rehab down in Florida until he was ready to resume basketball activities...

Hope he heals soon. He really brings a lot to this team. He's a better athlete than many might think. He also has a great motor and terrific attitude. He'll still be a great locker room and bench influence while recovering, but we will really miss his play on the court. Dieng just ain't close to ready. I'd much rather have CJ than AJ Price right now. But as Wild and Cool have suggested, we'll just have to ride this out and hope Dieng and others can adequately fill in the rotation behind Ronnie while he recovers.

I thought I read that they weren't expecting him back until the first of the year???

he's returning to rejoin the team, not to play.

39 years old, and has a torn plantars fasciitis. Could be out a long time, so not an option. Anyone else other than CJ?
I didn't know he was hurt. Scratch that idea.

As I recall in summer league, Deing looked overmatched in the first game, but made great strides in the following games. Hopefully he follows the same MO!

Westbrook is making his return tonight, despite speculation he would be out 4 to 6 weeks. While Bud needs to work his way back into basketball shape, I think he is returning because he's ready to start practicing. Which means his return should not be far off.
