KG never wanted to be traded. He went to Taylor right before the move and asked for an extension. I think AI and KG would have been a perfect fit, and would have jumped at the chance to make the trade. We had more than enough talent to be a contender again, and I think it might have extended AI's career as well. We might have been a more attractive destination for more vets as well.

Sjm, I don't think we have enough talent to compete with ai and kg. We are looking at Davis, Blount, hassle, jaric, mccants, Hudson, mike James. 1 or 2 of them probably get traded along with foye and a first rounder. The rest of them don't have much value around the league. As well respected as ai is by his peers, he is NOT a player other players enjoy playing with.
Kg never wanted to be traded, but ultimately, getting traded won kg his only championship ring and I don't thin he had a shot here with ai. Chris webber, who is as unselfish as kg is hated playing with ai. Yes, I know webber was declining when he was teammates with ai but that has to say something about iverson. Could kg and iverson work? Yes, but would it be enough? I don't think so.

worldK, I'm sure Minnesota would have become a better place for free agents to come and play had AI and KG been here. They'd have to be a role players and have an intial based nickname lol. Cheesy joke, but anyways, I don't see why it couldn't have worked out. I also think KG would have rubbed off on AI in terms of work ethic in practice and things like that. Garnett's just too strong of a personality not to.
Sure, we might not have Rubio or Love right now, but I fully believe that the Minnesota market for FAs would be bigger as well as possibly having an NBA Finals title.

Yeah looking back the help you win talent on that roster was incredibly pathetic. With Iverson there with KG maybe we could have made some other moves to improve the team with some role players, but damn that was a crappy roster.

Cam, I don't think we have cap space to sign free agents with kg and iverson. What we would have is a roster of untradable contracts with a mix of 4 or 5 of Hudson,jaric,Davis,Blount,mike James,mccants(recovering from micro fracture surgery). 4 of those were out of the league after their bad contracts ended. Davis stay on for 2more years and was out while mike James became a inseason injury replacement journeyman. Iverson had a brief stint back in Philly and Memphis after his contract and has been out of the league since. We probably lost a first rounder too. I guess we could sign minimum vet players but iverson was not a player his peers likes to play with even if he was well respected.
Kg and iverson could work no doubt but the other pieces won't be there and kg won a title in foye's sophomore year. Don't think he had a shot here. Kg's legacy would have been different and it would've have been ugly if we have to rebuild after kg is out of his prime, he would have been traded anyway and won't have gotten the value we got back then.
