Good and encouraging article.. I can definitely see wiggins starting from day 1. No resaon to play him behind brewer. He has a lot to prove, not just to justify his standing as the number 1 pick but also for being traded right away and for a top 10 playrr to booth.

Yes, he should start, and Brewer will be very good coming off the bench. It's a very good situation IMO

This article sounds really good. I thought it was interesting when Self said something about Wiggins knowing he was going to be traded.

I think Wiggins will start at SF but I'm not putting his name in pen on the lineup card. I think he will have to earn it a bit and if he isn't quite ready maybe Brewer starts for 10 games before Wiggins is ready. IMO its very possible we are underrating what he will be able to do very quickly for this team. A lot of #1 overall picks play well right away. Can anyone else think of a top 10 pick Flip has coach as a rookie that didn't go on to become a pretty good player? I can't think of any. Flip may really develop these young players quickly like he did with Marbury and KG. That would be fun. :)

It's a win-win for Wiggins IMO. On one hand...you get to play with the best in the game right away and contend for championships from the get-go on an exciting team.

On another (Wolves) you are likely to be forced to take more of an alpha role along with Rubio to turn the team into a winner and future contender. Any future championship will be with him as a primary piece to the puzzle, rather than a bit piece in the scheme.

I see our lineup next year as something looking like this...

Rubio/Mo/LaVine
Martin/LaVine/Brewer
Wiggins/Budinger/GRIII/Hummel
Thad/Mbah/Dieng
Pek/Dieng/Turiaf

Side note....on the feel good story note.. Turiaf is interning at Olson Ad agency in Minneapolis along with a couple inner city kids in a program and he's donating his wages (like $12/hour) to the program as a donation. Granted, it's nothing to him, but still a nice gesture.

Jan vesley, whos lip locking with his gf when he got drafted is his sole nba highlight.

Flip has had 5 top 10 picks that he has coached. Kg, Steph, Wally, Wall and Vesley. Thats 4 out of 5 for flip. I feel very good about flip handling wiggins. Also, the wolves were one of two teams along with philly that were rumored to surely take wiggins if they had won the draft lottery, so flip clearly likes wiggins and value him highly.
