Thanks for posting, Geek! I like the level of Wiggins' self-awareness. And I like that he'll be coming here with a positive attitude. If things go well, Wiggins, LaVine and Rubio can develop into an exciting, unique and very successful core threesome.

Self-awareness was the first thing I thought of too when I read this earlier. He knows that he tends to coast if his team isn't relying on him. After Embiid got hurt last year, Wiggins realized he needed to carry the team. He averaged 28.5 PPG the last 4 games of the season. He played poorly in the tournament, but he has shown that he can step it up a notch when his team needs it. Hopefully having a big scoring load on his shoulders from the start will force him to realize his potential.

Man, what a great article...thanks for posting, kek!

I commented a week ago how down Wiggins appeared in his "I just want to play where I'm wanted" video. It made me think he would be a happy Timberwolf from day one. But this article confirms it. This guy wants to be in Minnesota, and might even bring a little chip on his shoulder about the post-draft lack of love he got from Cleveland. Freakish athleticism combined with a chip on the shoulder is a nice package to bring.

We all know about Wiggins' other-worldly athleticism and potential. But the more I read about him, the more I like his character too. I like hearing about his daily contact with his brothers and mother, and find him to possess exceptional humility for a guy who has had so much media attention for so long. I think he is a guy who is going to make long-suffering Wolves' fans happy for a long time.

Also, I really would like to see this franchise make a change much like the one the Tampa Bay Devil Rays did years ago. Team stays in Minnesota, but we alter the team name (get rid of "Timber" in Timberwolves; too long). Go back to the old wolf logo. The retro green and blue uniforms too. Would be cool to see since we might actually have a winning future ahead.

While Wiggins didn't really have a choice as to where he would end up playing ball, it is absolutely refreshing as a Minnesota sports fan to hear someone embrace the idea of coming here and turning things around. Awesome.
