Re: Barea, LMAM and Shved on the block
All 3 need to go.
JJ I don't want to watch another second of. He needs to go back to a contending team who can use him sparingly--not us. Of all players on the team last year, he hurt us the most. And for whatever reason Adelman stuck with him.
Moute might have SOME value on the right team, but again not us.
Shved is the one player that might have some value if used right as a backup point guard. That being said, if you can trade him or buy him out do it.
Again, to summarize, all 3 need to go.

JJ might not have hurt us so much if Adelman had actually done some coaching. I'd be perfectly content with all three riding the pine. They would be better 13-15 guys than most teams have.

JJ is not without talent. But his biggest problem is he plays such a different style than Ricky. Last season we would go from ball movement to guys standing around watching JJ dribble. Just a recipe for failure. And yeah, you can blame Adelman for that.
Already I've seen enough of Lavine to say he's a better fit backing up the point than JJ--even at 19. But if the plan is to use him more as a "2," maybe keeping Shved has some merit. But JJ? Ship him out for a bag of chips.

Re: Barea, LMAM and Shved on the block
Anyone who watched Barea last year realised how much he hurt us. The stats proved it. Adelmans other option Shved had lost all confidence after he was cemented on the bench, even after playing well for a stretch of 5 games when he got game time.
The Mo Williams signing and LeVine pick render both Barea and Shved obsolete. You trade them for anything, except bad multi year contracts.
LMAM is ok to keep as atleast he excels at one thing - defense. Hes good for 15 minutes a night shutting down opposition wings. Makes a good practice buddy for Wiggins too.

.....to sign who?
Doesn't have to be to sign someone. Could be used to take back a contract and get a pick. There are many different ways to use the cap space.
those contracts tend to be overpaid players, and those draft picks usually turn out to be 2nd rounders.

Which is why you get a pick back with them, and the picks turn out to be what you negotiate.
This team isn't making the PO's next season (or likely the next either) so why not try and put us in a better position going forward. Same thing that teams like Utah, Boston and Philly have been doing.

The Magic spent their cap space on Ben Gordon for 9 million dollars. The Jazz spent theirs on overpaying for Gordon Hayward. Not sure thats the road to go down

I would rather have Hayward, than Martin and Bud on my team. Dallas spent their space on Parsons. Would be nice to be in that position either way.

Glen needs to man up and buy out Barea or Shved if he has to. It's just for a year and if they do well elsewhere, godspeed. But they're not gonna fetch anything good so cut your losses

I think they actually will cut them loose if they have too but they are gonna try and move them in a deal. If they get Young they have to include at least 1 of these guys.
