eh I dunno, it took a while for the Heat in their first year to really gel, and that Bosh and Wade were better then anything the Cavs have now
I really dont put to much stock in the idea that a big three is necessary to win. I look at that Cavs lineup and see players that fill their roles properly. U got the scorers, hustle and rebound guys , and plus plus defenders. Most teams struggle to find that balance like the 90s Bulls,Kobes Lakers and this years Spurs. I see the Cavs being able to achieve that.
Whose the plus plus defenders?
Lebron and Wiggins

Cavs are planning to get Haywood in a trade which would give them a pretty solid defensive Center behind Varejo who when healthy is a pretty nice player.
If the Bulls get Gasol that's a big get for them but that roster is an injury waiting to happen. I LOVE Rose but who knows if he will come back healthy of finish the season healthy. Thibs has done a heck of a job there but the uncertainty of the health of guys there is a big deal.
Nets have injury issues too and Pierce who knows if he will be back. They replaces Livingston with Jack who might be a better player anyway.
The bottom line is all the top east teams have issues right now but the offseason isn't over. I still think the Cavs have a shot at getting to the ECF and maybe even further depending on a bunch of factors we don't know yet.

Wiggins hasn't played an NBA game yet. Lebron is still good but did slip last year

Alex, I agree that the current Cavs roster may struggle a little defensively...Tristan Thompson, for instance, has a good defensive reputation, but sometimes struggles keeping up with quicker PF's. I think they will have to find some help here in free agency. But I wouldn't be concerned with their 3-point shooting. Just like the Spurs' system makes everyone a better 3-point shooter, LeBron has the same impact. The attention he attracts combined with his ability to find the open man creates wide open looks...and most NBA players will make wide-open threes at a high percentage.
