Back to back worst posts of the year. Coach Bud is half the coach Finch is, and although I hate the return we got for Towns, TC is one of the proven best GM's in the league. Who else could fine another sucker to take DLO? He got us in to a conference final in short order and built the Nuggets championship team. You're so far off base here it's hard to take you seriously.KG4Ever wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 2:08 pm I'll be honest, the only way we get rid of Finch is for the Wolves to miss the playoffs and that is still no certainty. To back you up on this cool. People are now bitching about the wolves not taking the long approach and trading for Rudy. After making the effing WCF. But whatever lets see where the wolves not trading for Rudy would have lead us and taking the long approach.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 8:01 pmBack to back worst posts of the year. Players the wolves trade away in the trade.
Pat Bev: Out of the league
Bolmaro: Out of the league
Vando: making 12 million a year and has been hurt the last 2 years so dead money
Beasley: Making 6 million this year after making the min last year. Ok rotation piece on a team
Kessler: A solid rotation big who is in and out of the starting lineup these last 2 year. Been averaging a solid 9 and 10 this year but the Jazz are 4.1 pts worse with Kessler on the floor. Kessler has also dealt with injuries in his young career. Oh ya he would also be up for an extension and the wolves would be having to make a probably tough decision on his future with the money he may or may not deserve.
What about the picks that the wolves would of had:
2023 1st: Keyonte George, averaging a solid 13 points per game on a terrible 38% from the floor and 34% from 3. He is one of the most inefficient offensive players in the NBA
2024 1st: Wolves would of been worse without Rudy last year so oh wait they would have drafted around 9. So they take Dilly at 9. OMG same player they have now. The wolves would not have Shannon.
Now lets look at the players they would still have because they took the long view.
Kat: Super Max Money
Ant: Super Max Money (Maybe would of just got the max because he might not of made all NBA)
Jaden: Still would be making 25 million a year
Naz: Would still be making 14 million a year
Minott and Miller would still be on the team.
Conley and Slow Mo may or not have resigned after playing for a non perceived contender.
So for this example I am going to give the "take the long view" and say slow mo and Conley did not resign and lets look at the wolves cap situation.
Dilly: 6 million
Ant: 42 million
Jaden: 23 million
Naz: 14 million
Kat: 49 million
Vando: 11 million
Naw: 4 million
Beasley: 6 million
George: 4 million
Kessler: 4 million
Miller: 2 million
Minott: 2 million
Garza: 2 million
equals 168 million for 13 players. So they could have 2 more roster players. If you add 2 vet min guys they are at 172.
So with an assumption Conley and Slow Mo do not return wolves just avoid the first apron. If one would come back they are a first apron team. If both would of come back they would of been a 2nd apron team.
So the wolves would not have cap space, would be in trouble long term due to Naw and Naz about to become FA. Sound familiar. Oh ya similar to how the team is at now but significantly less talented.
A main reason the wolves have struggled this year is because the young guys in Ant, Jaden and Naz have not preformed up to expectations and that would not of changed if they took long route. They would just be expensive young under preforming players.
Re: Now or never for this wolves team
Connelly is not the problem, the salary cap is part of it, but Finch is the real issue. He needs to get his players to compete at a higher level, or find someone on this "deep" bench to play hard and take the minutes away from the guy who has them. I did the same thing in HS, pushed the senior playing lazy ball at the 3, and took his minutes. The coach needs to do his job.

This is what the Wolves need. To play for the guy next to them and be held accountable. This is not happening now.

That's a compliment coming from you. Hate on me all you want. But you know I'm right! Sure we both agree DLO sucked, but wake the fukk up Finch is ass and so is your homoerotic fantasy man Connelly.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 8:01 pmBack to back worst posts of the year. Re: Now or never for this wolves team
OK you two should get a room. TC fukked us up real good and its useless to try and rationalize his incompetence. Finch is a bad coach who should not be coaching a team with title aspirations. Fukk em both and fukk the nitwits who defend their incompetence.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 10:55 pmImpressive case - nice jobkekgeek wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 9:43 pmTo back you up on this cool. Dumbest take I've read on this board all year. On what planet is Finch better than Coach Bud? Only in someone's dementia ridden brain.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 8:01 pmBack to back worst posts of the year. Re: Now or never for this wolves team
Getting back to Ant's post-game comments. Let me get this straight. It's okay for the guy from Georgia making millions to rip his team, but if the fans paying hundreds of dollars expecting to see consistent effort from these multi millionaires express their discontent by booing, that's "so fucking disrespectful, it's crazy". D'okay...my apology letter is in the mail, Ant. You're fine...the fans are the real problem.
Many problems with this team right now, but our "superstar" needs to take a long look in the mirror.

Re: Now or never for this wolves team
Do you remember when Rudy, the experienced vet, whined last season about fans booing? Or maybe it was the season before last. In any event, we don’t have vets to establish a winning culture. Ant’s not up to the task but it’s obviously not just Ant. We have experienced vets on this team (Rudy, Randle, Conley) who clearly haven’t done anything this season to forge a winning culture. At some point perhaps fans and pundits will start to acknowledge KAT’s critical role in the team’s chemistry and cohesion last season and the season before Rudy arrived. We certainly miss his defense. We also miss his floor-spacing. But we also miss the positive impact he had on team chemistry. He was the guy who adjusted his game enormously to accommodate Rudy. Rudy did NOT do the same to adjust to KAT. Yes, KAT had his faults and whining about calls was one of them although he curbed that substantially last season. But he’s a great player who contributed positively in the locker room in ways we don’t fully understand but are beginning to see.FNG wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 7:18 am Getting back to Ant's post-game comments. And let’s not underestimate the positive impact Slo Mo had on this team as a player and leader. He’s the guy who went after Rudy for not competing. What we remember from that incident was Rudy’s immature swing at Kyle. But the important take-away was that Anderson confronted Rudy and likely for good reason.
I don’t think Finch has suddenly become a bad head coach. The problem is the roster and that’s TC’s responsibility. I’m not going to declare TC a bad executive, but he has some real work to do. I thought the Rudy deal was bad, not because of what the players we gave up would be doing for us, but because of the other things transactionally that could have been done with those players, the draft picks we’d have and the financial flexibility we could have had to do things. Simply avoiding the 2nd apron would have allowed the Wolves to keep KAT or at least give us more leverage and flexibility for trading him. My initial reaction to the KAT trade was that it was bad for us in the short term and I think I’m looking pretty prophetic right now.
I’m about ready to declare that this team needs to move on to its next iteration. In spite of the criticism of Ant, he’ll have to be the focal point of the next version of this team. Unfortunately, Jaden’s trade value is plummeting and he’s been the only player other than Ant with high trade value. And because we’re over the 2nd apron, our ability to make trades is severely constrained. So re-tooling to the next iteration of this team will be challenging to say the least. That means TC will have to be every bit as good as advertised. He’s made some bad moves and some good ones since arriving. But he’ll have to up his game if we’re going to dig out of this hole and get on track to becoming the sustainable contender TC said he wanted to build here.
