I agree that it’s time to shuffle the deck, but I would prefer Tim’s idea of swapping Naz and Ju in the rotation. I don’t think Rob is ready to contribute if we’re serious about making the playoffs, and it’s pretty clear that the coaches (who know a lot more about the readiness of our young guys than we do) don’t think he’s ready.
But swapping Randle and naz makes a lot of sense to me. I appreciate that Ant and Ju are trying to make it work together, but it’s clear to all of us that it’s not. I want one of them on the court at all times, but I want their time on the court together to be limited. I would look to give Ant 36 minutes and Ju around 28, but more of Ants minutes would be with Naz than with Randle. Instead I want Randle next to DiVo, because I think they work well together.
Give us a Christmas gift, Finchie, and make this switch!
It's true the coaching staff knows where Rob is at but they also know how the current rotation is performing. They seem to think it's fine judging by their actions.

A deal I could see happening by the trade deadline:
Heat get
Michael Porter Jr.
Dario Saric
2031 Nuggets first rounder top 1 protected
Nuggets get
Jimmy Butler
Nets get
Julius Randle
2025 Utah 2nd via MIN
Wolves get
Cam Johnson
Zeke Nnaji
Day'Ron Sharpe
2029 Grizzlies 2nd via BK
the positive is that you can start Reid with no real resistance and now you can put pressure on McDaniels as Cam can back up both forward spots. You get a backup C in Sharpe you can now use.
The downside is that the flexibility Connelly wanted is gone because Nnaji is dead weight (unless they wanna groom him to be Rudy's backup C) and they give up a high 2nd next year to do it. They can keep Naz and maybe NAW, but then they'd have to reroute Cam Johnson in the summer which shouldn't be too difficult.
Dozier and Ingles get released.
C Gobert/Sharpe/Garza
PF Reid/Johnson/Minott/Miller
SF McDaniels/NAW/Johnson
SG Edwards/DiVincenzo/Shannon
PG Conley/Dillingham
Summer time, try to recoup a couple of 2's for Cam in exchange for cap relief

Would Denver and Miami really need the other teams to get this done? What about Utah instead of Brooklyn?
The principles are Randle, Saric and Clarkson to Miami, Butler to Denver, Porter and Josh Richardson to Utah, Sexton and Nnaji to Minnesota.

I doubt Utah wants Porter. A team like Miami who doesn't wanna bottom out would probably be more interested in Porter.
Besides, Minnesota getting Sexton is yet another guard we don't have the PT to carve out for

I actually think Miami would rather have Randle unless they think Porter can level up to a number one scorer. Utah wanted John Collins so anything is possible there.

Extremely small sample size alert!
But our offrating is 124 with a lineup of Randle/minott/Naz/DDV/Naw. It’s only had 26 min but it’s the largest sample of lineups for minott and there are no higher OffRatings with larger minutes this year.
Minott needs more minutes and this lineup clears the paint for Julius to work and kick, and Minott to clean up the misses.
