I'd like to see Summer League play out and see if any of the existing two-way guys deserve a regular contract sooner rather than later.

I feel like Lyles largely checked the box of getting a competent rotation PF with conventional PF size.

As far as 3&D wings go, let Josh Green and Jaylen Clark battle it out for a rotation spot. Having two guys like them seems like enough for now.

Yeah let's see what we have in some of these guys. Maybe someone else not on the roster blows them away and we sign them. If they are a rookie we could sign them to a cheaper deal which might help things financially.

Monster wrote: Wed Jul 08, 2026 2:38 am I like that Charles Bassey made the list.

I'm on the Sochan train with Lil but Im an Olynyk fan too. 8 had forgotten how well he does dishing out assists. Assuming he still has something left in the tank after a less productive season with the Spurs I'd probably go with him. On the other hand ina way Trey Lyles and Olynyk have some similarities in what they can bring to the floor so maybe a younger flawed guy makes some sense. After seeing his stats if we could get Thybulle for the vet it seems like that would be a heck of a value. I have no idea what he would come here with all the options this team currently has on the wing.
I think you hit the nail on the head Monster, with Lyles, guys like Olynyk or Love would be redundant.

My choice from with list would be Thybulle, but that's because I have extremely biased preference for defensive wings, and it's possible I have a blind spot to the need to add more size. In which case I would heavily favor Sochan.

I still personally favor the idea of going pretty "small" in which the lineups are pretty much a 5 plus a positionless array of guards and wings
My view aligns with both of you. If we hadn’t signed Trey, I would have voted for Kevin Love even though I love what Sochan brings and am still intrigued by what can can become. In Trey, we’ve added a backup PF who can stretch the floor. Sochan would give us both defense and rebounding as well some ball-handling and great intensity. Think Jared Vanderbilt.

That will leave us with one more roster spot to fill and remaining uncertainty about whether we have the talent and depth we need at the PF position. The Wolves could make a significant trade yet this summer although the team’s trade assets and options are very limited. If the Wolves don’t make a trade, they will have to fill one more roster slot and can’t go above the veterans minimum to fill that slot. So time to nail down who we’d like to see the Wolves sign as LeBron signs elsewhere.

The poll asks who the Wolves should sign. You can also add who you predict the Wolves will sign.
Don't read too much into that speculation. The last Shams REPORT said it was down to 6 teams and the other day he said the Wolves were VERY high on his list. All the talk about CLE, MIA, PHI is based on what teams are talking about and speculating on. Jon K for ex, thinks the longer this takes, the better chance MN has.

Yeah and he teased this morning about "knowing something" today too in relation to a Charlie Walton tweet lol

Yeah, but he has posted more about Cleveland the past 24 hours...

The best storyline of LeBron coming to Minnesota, and there are a bunch of them, is him "handing torch down to ANT" (along with LaMelo and Jaden)!

But LeBron, or no LeBron, I think TC has assembled the best Wolves team we have seen in their history. They need to go out and prove it.

How cruel would it be to tease Minnesota people like that?

Yeah I saw that too lol. The BIGGEST thing I can point out right now is that all these insiders/reporters the past few days have been going off tea leaves, vibes and chatter from what teams around the league are saying. I've seen no actual reporting since last weekend. Most of them that I've tuned into do think it's most likely CLE, but that's kinda obvious. It's either he goes home to end his career, goes to hoop/golf with friends or goes for a better, but still challenging situation with a shot at winning (MIN, PHI, etc). I think most people would agree the default and spot to beat is CLE.

"I wanted to end my career where it all started. I'm coming home." Tears all around....BARF!!!

It doesn't make any sense that he would wait so long to announce a fairly obvious sentimental/storybook type move like that unless he truly dragged it out due to sheer vanity and to string along these other franchises. And if he is, then I hope it ends horribly for him!!!
