Maybe this thread will pick up as we get closer to draft day.
Despite the potential of several guys, I'm still concerned about WR. For that reason, I would like to see the Vikings take Amari Cooper if he happens to fall to our pick. I don't think he will, though, and I'm not too excited about the other receivers projected to go early.
More likely we select CB Waynes from Michigan St. Pairing him with Rhodes could be really effective.
Where you guys picking at?

I'm personally fine with our WR core. I don't think you can invest in another WR high right now, or you're just cutting into time for Johnson, Patterson, and Wright to prove themselves as players, or not. If one or two of them fail this year, then draft one in the 1st next year, not now. That being said, I am a BPA in the 1st no matter what position, so if Cooper does fall there, I take him. I am not high on White or Parker at #11 though.
I'm hoping for defense, defense, defense and an OG in this draft. CB, MLB, SS, DL, OG.
BPA in the 1st, regardless of position. You take blue-chip talent in the 1st, and at #11 that would be whoever is there out of amari cooper WR, shane ray DE, vic Beasley OLB, Brandon scherff OG, arik armstead DT/DE, danny Shelton DT, randy Gregory OLB/DE , Bud Dupree OLB/DE.

The Rams pick 10th. Our offensive line sucks, but I have a feeling if Cooper or White is there at 10 they are the choice. The whole relocation stuff has the enthusiasm drained from me.

Curious why Waynes is not on your list, ooooo. He looks like the complete package, and most mocks have him still available when we pick.
The Georgia RB (can't think of his name right now) looks like the kind of player Spielman would try to move up into the first round to pick somewhere in the late teens...he seems undervalued to me.

Gurley could be AP 2.0. Big, powerful, and fast. Had he not tore his knee he would be a too 15 pick.

It sounds like there is some steam for Gurely to go higher than people thought a few weeks ago. I think from what little I read tht if Gurely hadn't hurt his knee he might have been the talent that might have gone in the top 10. I know that sounds crazy for a RB but yeah. To me it seems like the Cikings can get a pretty nice player at 11.
I sort of agree with the idea that we shouldn't go with a WR because we have some talent there but on the other hand none of those guys are a sure thing for well anything. Johnson looked like the real deal but... CP has issues Mike Wallace is a nice but etc etc. if you can get a stud WR there maybe you don't pass him up but to me the MSU CB makes a ton of sense. I love watching the draft so it will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

I'm very much intrigued by the idea of reuniting Teddy with Parker, but I too am happy with the top of the WR core. So maybe it's better to wait later in the draft to pick a WR and see what they can do from the bottom of the depth chart. Wallace, Johnson, Patterson, Wright, Thielen. I don't think they've given up on Patterson either.
Wayans - CB at 11 is a pick I like or a guard if one of the top OL fall to 11.

I think Wayne's play is mostly underwhelming. Yes, he only gave up 2 touchdowns over the last 2 seasons, but what quarterbacks/powerhouse offenses have there been in that conference? None. He isn't very fluid in his hips. His quick twitch athleticism isn't anything special, and his footwork is very lacking. He has great straight-line speed, but not excellent burst. Football IQ is definitely a question mark as well. His play has consisted of a lot of grabbing, which will be called more often in the NFL, and his build is far too skinny for his height, and does not look to have the frame to bulk up much more, i.e. broad shoulders. I see him getting man-handled in press coverage in the nfl because of this, which very well could be why he seems so quick to grab receivers even in college, because he's playing catch-up. Check out his game against Baylor, which was one of the only good quarterbacks he really faced, and he got eaten up for most of the game. Also, because of his lack of weight, and his tackling technique, I see him getting bulldozed or injured often in the nfl. Watch more tape on him, and you should see a lot of the same things. Dennard was a much better prospect out of MSU, and he could hardly see the field this past year.
If it wasn't for Marcus Peters' issues with his coaching staff, he'd be far and away the best CB on the board. I'd take him or Jalen Collins before Waynes. And i'd rather have one of Eric Rowe, Byron Jones, P.J. Williams, Ronald Darby, Quinten Rollins, Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (Antoine Winfield 2.0), or Senquez Golson in rounds 2-4.
A CB isn't terribly high on my wishlist as i believe Terrence Newmann can be our #2 corner this year, Captain can move back to the slot where he is competent, and Josh Robinson can be our #4 CB.
Pick a CB in the 4th to groom for a year and i'll be happy. Take BPA in the 1st round, and fill a hole of MLB/OG/SS/(DE depth) in the 2nd and 3rd preferably.
I really like Gurley as a prospect, but we can't take him if both AP and McKinnon are on our roster. He would be the perfect back to pair with McKinnon if AP was gone though.

Spielman and Zimmer are talking highly of CP's commitment this off-season, which is a wonderful thing to hear. I'm of the thinking that you cannot bury players who have not yet been given time to show if they have ability or not yet. This is a make or break year for all of Johnson, CP, and Wright. Let it play out this year, and if they all improve, we have all of our answers. If not, then we know what we have to target next offseason. I'd rather focus on filling holes we know we definitely have right now like SS, MLB, OG rather than picking a player to fill a hole we "might" have, like at WR, when the player we draft at WR has just as much of a chance to bust as a Johnson, Patterson, Wright. If we pick a WR like Parker, and all of our other receivers show promise/progress, then we have the problem of a lack of play time to go around and we have to look to trade one of those guys, and we add that on to the problem of passing up the chance to fill a more glaring hole with top end talent.
