Every team has a breaking point. I think its' been very telling that the Vikings haven't used all the excuses available to them to find theirs. On a board where we discuss the woeful Wolves a lot... I think there's some relevance here.
A season like this, led by clear leadership and vision during adversity, can set the tone for an entire organization... for years to come. All that stuff analytics can't cover... "a culture of accountability" and stuff like that. It's been impressive/frustrating to watch.
Yeah, pretty impressive performance last night. After hearing so much about the Dallas offensive line all week, it was heartening to see our defensive lines push them around and stifle their running game. The blown coverage on the long pass play and the muffed punt by Thielen (I was sitting next to his agent at the game, and he was a little glum after) cost us a big win. Good game though.
Is there anyone here that can list out the O-line injuries player by player? It's unprecedented isn't it?
Nope, because we'd have to guess at whatever has Mike Harris out for the season...nobody has named it yet. I suspect it's something psychological or addiction related, but nobody knows...weird. But it is unprecedented. In August we thought we had the deepest offensive line in football, but we have lost through release, retirement or injury Loadholt, Sullivan, Kalil, Long, Smith, Harris and Berger...and I don't even know if I have them all. Devastating.
LST - I know it is crazy. I honestly wouldn't fault the team for investing 3+ picks on OL in the draft this year. I almost would be upset if they didn't focus on scouting them this year.

LST my guess about Harris is that it's been a legit illness. It could be cancer. There are a number of things it could be medically and if Harris and or his family don't want it released...that's their right. What was that young Vikings olineman's that had to retire because of some medical condition year or 2 ago? Ok I just looked it up it was Austin wentworth who had issues with Blood clots and had to retire. It could be something like that.

Draft priority's...
1. Offensive line
2. Offensive line
3. Offensive line
4. If there is a nifty RB in the mid rounds
5. Offensive line
6. Offensive line
7. Linebacker or a defensive tackle
I watched this game and the Lions condensed games tonight. I'm still ok. Lol
The Dallas game even though it sucked to lose was hopeful because how the Vikings played. I thought even the oline did plenty to help the team win. Then I look on Twitter and see Harrison Smith has a bad ankle sprain and could be done for the season. I guess we are gonna get to see if the Vikings have a young safety worth anything for a couple games. Man losing Smith is tough about the only other guy I think is that hard to replace is Linval.
I think the Vikings could still have a shot at getting in if they finished up 3-1 but obviously I really like their chances if they win out. We will see. It's been a compelling season that's for sure I wasn't planning to watch every game this year.

You're right, monster...it very well could be cancer, and the family has every right to their privacy. It's just rather unusual to lose a player for the season with no disclosure...unprecedented in Viking history I would say. That's why my suspicion is something the family prefers to keep quiet...something more psychological, since there is still a stigma there for a segment of the population. Whatever it is, we wish him a successful recovery.
