SP - I can see that, but giving up 65th pick for Taylor is spendy. Why not go after AJ McCarron or Josh McCown (again)?
As crazy as it sounds if I am the Browns I might go QB at 1 & 4. It certainly would send shock waves through the draft for teams looking for a QB. Then they could either trade or let both compete and solve the problem at QB once and for all.

I like Taylor, but bet he would get cut. He had a 16M cap number.

The Browns have (had?) 5 picks in the first two rounds this year so giving a a 3rd round pick for Taylor if they felt he was a better short term answer is fine IMO. Then there is the fact that some still see Taylor as having some upside which nobody sees in McCarron or McCown.

Bleed His final (autocorrect changed it to "fatal" lol) cap number...for the Bills if they would have kept him would have been 17.25 million. If they cut him the most they would have saved was 10 million. What I am not sure of is how much the Bills and browns pay of that over 7 million he was basically guaranteeded. OTC still has him with over 7 million in dead money on their Bills sheet. For Buffalo the 10 million...well top backups are gonna make at least half of that 10 million. Would have have gotten cut? The chances were pretty decent but I also think there were some teams that would have happily given up at least a 4th rounder for Taylor if guys like Keenum and or McCarron get pricey and they can get Tyrod cheaper...maybe a lot cheaper. I mean really who is the better player out of those guys? Taylor good and bad is more proven than either and he is only a year older than McCarron. Another way to look at it was they traded Kizer and a 3rd round pick for Tyrod and a somewhat promising but troubled former 1st round CB. Not bad.

I like Taylor, but a 1st pick in the 3rd round is a steep price in my eyes for a 1-year rental.
I am pulling for the Browns though.

Sherman, Suh, AP all released or being released.
Crazy offseason even though these guys are on the wrong side of 30.

Brees signs for 2yr/50M. That is a discount in my eyes. I expect Graham to sign with Saints now as part of why Drew took less.

Jets move to 3. The offseason moves continue. Giants are in a great spot. They can take the best offer or take the QB of there choice. This QB class will make or break a lot of careers. I am guessing we see at least QBs from this class start by end of year 2.

That was a lot to move up 3 spots. It's interesting since the have McCown and Teddy already since usually you go all in on a QB. I mean I think they should draft a QB but that's a lot of assets to do so.
Meanwhile the Bills ended up with McCarron for top backup money.
