RHJ would be a very solid player in the rotation. I of course am hoping Vanderbilt becomes our versatile defender, rebounder and all around hustle guy at the 4, but RHJ is obviously way more proven. He'd be making $15M per year if he had a reliable 3-point shot.

Love it. Swapping bad contracts and giving both players a different environment. Houston getting a first out of that is totally reasonable.

Westbrook is a flawed player and hopefully he doesn't take away from Beal too much but those guys together could be interesting. Bertrans is a big time shooter. I don't think most people know what kind of a season he had last year.
Edit: Cousins signs with Houston. John Wall and Cousins back together. Maybe Houston is gonna try and compete with Harden on the roster...at least till someone blows them away with an offer.

Westbrook with Beal and Bertans is super interesting.
I still do not understand what Houston is trying to do with Harden. The guy needs to be surrounded by shooters and defenders. Not another guard who is only effective with the ball in his hands as well. Guess they are just playing damage control now to recoup picks.

Christian Wood might be a big that's a shooter. They basically cashed in on Covington and replaced him with Wood. Cousins has shot the 3 reasonably well at times in his career. I guess they aren't playing super small ball anymore. John Wall does have a higher career 3 point percentage than Westbrook but we don't know what player they are getting there. They added some interesting young and not old wing players in Sterling Brown and David Nwaba who are more likely defenders but have shown some growth as shooters. I think they are putting something around Harden that will also look towards a rebuild if that option presents itself. It's going to be interesting to see how things play out there especially with a rookie head coach in Silas. There are plenty of interesting stories in the league.

Re: Offseason rumors forum
So now that Houston has Wall and today Harden said he would be ok with going to Philly, if philly does deal do they give up simmons or embiid, or do they try ro wing a 3 way with rosas getting simmons with edwards plus something. Houston has now a weird roster of typically injured stars. Do they start over? Do they want Simmons or Embiid or do they want a you ger guy so they can start a rebuild. I could see Rosas getting involved here.

I was wondering the same thing. Knowing Morey, I think they'd trade Embiid, not Simmons. I haven't looked at how salaries would match, but I would guess the Sixers would have to give up Embiid and a couple future draft picks for Harden. The Sixers would have to add an additional player or two to match salaries. I don't think there will be a big bidding war for Harden.
Maybe there's a chance of a 3-way where the Sixers get Harden, the Wolves get Simmons and Houston gets Edwards, Culver and McDaniels from MN along with future draft picks from the Sixers. Salaries probably don't match and it's not likely anyway.
Re: Offseason rumors forum
Correct me if I am wrong but we can't trade Edwards or McDaniels for like 60 days, same as Beasley, RHJ and Hernangomez.
That's why Wiggins played in a summer league game for the Cavs before traded to the wolves for Love can't trade him after he signs the contract for 60 days. Same thing with the guys we just signed/re-signed. They didn't agree to a sign and trade so there is a grace period before we can trade them.
Meaning in a three way trade it would be impossible because wolves don't have the assets. To match salaries Rubio, Culver and probably 4 unprotected 1sts would need to be the offer to the Rockets and I don't think they do that. (Would rather just trade Harden for Simmons).
Then you can bring in Russell and a 1st for Simmons. (Harden to the sixers). Then the wolves have such a werid roster construct with Rubio, Simmons, Okogie and Culver not the best fit around Simmons. Also hard to get shooters around Simmons when wolves can't trade there 2021 1st, 2022 1st or 2023 1st and if we traded our 2024 1st in said deal for Simmons the Wolves couldn't trade a 1st until 2026, going to be real hard to add legit shooting.
Overall think the Simmons deal realistically died after draft night, wolves just don't have the assets right now when the grace periods of Edwards, McDaniels and Beasley to get a big time player via trade now.
Maybe in a couple of months when they can trade those players maybe something becomes available

Yeah it would be 30 days in order to trade edwards from when he signed his contract. I believe that Rubio can be dealt right now as something to do with covid changes to rule.
There has also been some articles about us being a dark horse for trading for Harden ourself. I dont think Houston will get as much as they want with how Harden is acting and I dont think there will be a ton of teams that want to take him. Hes kind of an enigma. Trade machine says Rubio Edwards Culver and Layman would work in a deal. Would you guys do that deal?
Would run out Russell Harden Beasley RHJ and Towns?
Im interested to hear how many would want Harden. Obviously hed have to agree to playing here but thats a pretty decent squad. Lot of offense, not much defense.
