Question marks with his defense and his contract situation. I think he's on the verge of being way overpaid. Not a bad trade idea by any means. Just not one that I would make.

Suns went 8-0 when Oubre was injured. Oubre is a flashy offensive player but his on court impact is frankly, not that great.

Pistons just got 16. Is 16, 7 and Kennard enough for 1?

Watching NBA TV now. Wow, none of the analysts (Seth, 3D, Sam Mitchell, Tom P) like Ball or Edwards as a top 3 pick. Every one of these analysts questioned the motor of both players as well as their shots, but they expressed far more concern about their motors or lack thereof. The most damning statement came from Seth (and the others agreed) questioning Ball's professionalism.

In contrast, Sam Mitchell absolutely loves Wiseman. He loves his professionalism. Says he's only scratching the surface of his abilities. Sam almost came out of his skin with enthusiasm. Seth said the consensus around the League is that. Wiseman has a good motor and works hard. Sam and Seth agree that Wiseman's can help an NBA team defensively from day 1, but it will take a couple years for him to develop the offensive skills to become great.

That wouldn't be enough for No. 1, but it would be enough for No. 3. That's where the "if you trade down once trade down twice" scenario I explained weeks ago comes into play. Stacking assets.

*ducks*

No, I wouldn't. And I'm likely alone on this one too.

I wouldn't either. Not giving up a rookie contract in this heavy middle draft to handcuff myself to him as our 3rd high paid player. Oubre will be asking for a nice contract.

We need flexibility to either add a third star or build cautiously around the current two. Adding oubre dismantles any ability to do either.

I want to state for the record that the Wolves passing on Wiseman is going to be one of the worst moves in franchise history. Maybe not as bad as passing on Steph, but potentially in that neighborhood. All because they have this quickly becoming outdated view of how the game should be played today. I'm already bummed out.

How about when the Wolves passed up Giannis for Shabazz Muhammad and Rudy Gobert for Gorgui Dieng in the same draft?

Agreed. He is not the perfect fit, but he is by far the best talent in this draft. You dont mess around at #1.

Lots of teams passed up on Giannis. Not many are going to pass on Wiseman.
