If a possible coaching change is on the horizon they better get on their horse and get something done.. let's not go the route of drafting and than searching for the coach again.

Appreciate that Bleedspeed. I think there are lots of good posters on here. I do think sometimes guys get too locked into "proving they are right" vs. just stating their case/opinion and moving on. However, I can't be a hypocrite as I've fell into that trap myself too. It can be tough letting someone else have the last word - lol! But overall - this certainly is a pretty good discussion board compared to some of the other places I've checked out.

He likes Flip, Wiggins and is a KG guy.

For those who think he'd never come here. FWIW. I wonder if Bump will ask Flip about it.

I'm curious as to why the Chicago job would be preferred by Hoiberg. The Bulls are a Derrick Rose injury away from being a team on the rapid decline. Gasol isn't going to play forever and they don't have the assets to improve much. On the other hand, the Wolves if managed properly (I know a big if) they should be able to eclipse the Bulls during the duration of whatever contract Fred gets. Not sure the Bulls are his best opportunity right now.

I agree with you its a tough call because the Bulls are at a sort of crossroads a team wth nice young talent assuming they keep butler and some aging vets plus Rose is an injury concern. Its a good opportunity though and Chicago is reasonably close to Ames and he has a relationship with managent and some history as a player with the team. I wonder what his college coach Tim Floyd would advise?

Here's the rubechat discussion. I heard the first 5 minutes of the interview, but had to go into a meeting.

This applies to me. Lol most of the times, though, I believe I need to do both. It depends on who you're talking to on the board, in my opinion.

Let's be honest. It applies to me and several other guys too. It's tough in the heat of the debate, but sometimes we all just need to take a step back to allow for others/differing opinions vs. jamming our own down everyone's throats. I'll try and be better at that myself - but no promises LOL.

Mikkeman wrote:I cannot believe how anyone can argue that Thibbs would not be good playoff coach just by using his record. He has coached only five seasons during the time when only team that has LeBron James the best player in whole league has been able to get finals from Eastern conference. Thibb's Chicago has been the only team that has got playoffs from East every season during that time. Even Spoelstra couldn't get Miami to playoffs when LeBron left and he had still better team there left than many of those Thibbs Chicago teams that were missing Rose were.

Thibbs have been able to win playoff games with guys like Marco Belinelli, Nate Robinson, Keith Bogans, C.J. Watson and Kirk Hinrich as starters. None of them have been starting for any other playoff team after their time in Chicago and most of them did not started for playoff team even before their time with Thibbs. Even his better players like Deng or Boozer have not flourished after their time in Chicago, so it really looks like Thibbs has got most out of the players he has had.

I still don't like how many minutes Thibbs plays those players he really trusts (like Deng, Butler, Noah and Rose) but I cannot argue about the results that he has got. It also seems that he has got better also in controlling his players minutes since he got NBA's most injury prone player Rose to play all playoff games.

Well said Mikk.
