I'm not interested in dealing TSJ for a PF at this point. We're short on bodies as is. Yes, you're adding a potential starter at PF but now you have to replace an extra guy.

Let's look at the G League. I mean what's the point of that league if you're busting your ass to not get an opportunity.

Not as a starter, but as back end depth, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. He's always had solid PER 36 numbers on the boards. Averaged 17/12/3 in G League. 25 years old and a NOVA guy, so effort won't be his issue. Worth a summer league invite with Kaufman-Renn (also worth noting: Our G league team is gonna have Beringer/Zikarsky/TKR. There's maybe room for one more guy to really evaluate out of the bigs. Evans and hopefully another wing worth trying out.

Anderson Garcia. Had a cup of coffee with Utah, but really excelled in G League.

Another guy is our very own Enrique Freeman. Maybe he can prove he was blocked off here by our glut of PF's. Using G League to look for options is worth a shot.

Lastly, see what Julian Reese's availability is. Played a handful of games for the Wizards, but he produced. 13 games, 31 mpg, 12 and 10. Not a floor spacer, but also consider if you're a good rebounder AND shooter, you're gonna get paid. So they may need one guy who is a specialist at either.

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl is a good name to bring up. How is he still only 25!? Lol

Reese is interesting too. He was onna 2-way with the Wizards last year and is from that area so maybe it will be hard to get him. Idk if Washington would sign him to a vet min deal if the Wolves wanted him on a guaranteed deal.

I'm right with you in this bus of trying to find some players like this. We haven't really done it with a G-league type guy in a while. Last year Bones had success on end of the bench non guaranteed deal so that's a bit of a positive.

Well, you're usually right about these things Kek!

What version are we going to get? Hopefully the 3&D version, but his shot comes and goes and he's hurt all the time.

Love it! High ceiling for a low salary. Take what you can get. Add him plus a guy like Bagley and we’re set.

I would generally like the idea of a vet minimum signing like Isaac. I’ve loved his talent since he was in the draft. Right now, he would be a cheap high reward option. But he’s also a SUPER high risk option. His injury history is so troubling that you’d have to assume he won’t play more than 20 games. There is clearly something fundamentally wrong with him physically. The problem for us is that we face a financial crunch. We’re only about $10M below the 2nd apron and need to fill three roster slots. That means the Wolves have to treat even vet contracts as precious gold. If we can pull off a Josh Green deal for a starting or reliable rotational power forward, then I’d throw a vet minimum at Isaac. But if we have to use our taxpayer MLE for a reliable starting or rotation PF, then we just won’t have the luxury of handing out a minimum contract to a player as truly brittle as Isaac. We certainly can’t rely on Isaac as the power forward we need in the wake of losing Randle and Naz.

Having said all that, I’m convinced the Wolves are going to trade Josh Green (perhaps with another assets) for a power forward. If I’m right, then by all means the Wolves should sign Isaac to a vet minimum deal if they can.

I get the concerns about Isaac but IF is stays reasonably healthy and they are carefully with him and start him and play him 25mpg and even if he doesn't shoot the 3 well he would be a hell of a pickup. I'm not sure there is anyone they could get in trade or FA that would be as good as that. Some of his numbers still excellent. He is a guy that per 36 is capable of averaging 2 steals and 2 blocks a game. I know defense isn't just about that but that's really good. I know the Wolves are in a salary crunch but I think it's a worthwhile gamble especially since he has at least played 50 games the last 3 seasons. I'll add that if you used Isaac as the guy that played a fair amount of PF then later you could still trade Green for something later. Personally I kinda wish we could keep him but that wings spot is pretty crowded even if Jaden started at the 4 which whether people like it or not is likely on the table of options and it's not a bad one.

I’m just going off the guy who said Evans was the pick 20 hours before said to look for Isaac to the wolves.

Isaac has extreme religious views so there he locker room implications. But he is still an elite defender. Would be a solid buy low.

I don't think you'd be starting Isaac, especially if he can't shoot. He'd be a specialist you bring off the bench for more physical matchups, kicking Jaden up to 3.
Whether it's Isaac or another FA target, I think that's the type you want
Can Isaac play as a 5?

His “extreme” religious views (just remember, you brought it up**) were the “mainstream” religious views 50 years ago (and going back forever), before everything in our society went haywire, and people like you started making the rules about what’s normal and what’s extreme.
